I used to sit on the bench close to this tree in my local park, sadly it had to be felled because of disease

What a beauty. Sad when a tree has to be felled through disease.
It was a beauty wasn't it!
Ooops, had to edit as it said "I was a beauty". eeek. 😱😱😱
I was just thinking the same Mydexter.
I have a great love of trees. If anyone has the opportunity of visiting an ancient woodland, do so, It's an experience not to be missed.

I was just thinking that Md.
That must be really upsetting for you. I looked as though it was a beauty who called tell a tale or two. x
Ooh you can see a face in that tree. Shame it was felled but sometimes it just has to be.
It almost looks like it knows it's fate. xx
Dallo I so understand your sadness, I love trees myself.
Years ago we had to fell an ash tree in our garden, Council said it posed a danger as its roots cracked the pavements. I objected, but they were going to do it themselves and present us with the bill.
So we had to call our tree surgeons, who looked after this beautiful tree for years.....
A gorgeous tree it was, I would sit under its canopy and dream.
Trees are a living organism, and and old gnarled tree always looks wise to me, somehow.

Lovely photo, sad to read of your loss, I always think trees and plants are alive, otherwise why would they grow? I grew some toms from seed, I had to pull some out as they were too close together, I rubbed the smell on my hands, then gently said thank you and laid them in the compost heap, so they could do more good work. I love nature and animals more so than most human beings.....Sending love n hugs.....Sprinkle 1.....
