It maybe coffee ? Fresh cut grass ? A particular perfume or aftershave ?
I’m a coconut fan - it reminds me of summer.

Coconut for me too.
I really like Jo Malone perfumes especially Honeysuckle &Davana. Ofcourse in the mornings you can't beat fresh coffee smells.
Oh Rumcake, I love Jo Malone too !!
Lemon. 🍋
Arab perfume oil
I also like wood smoke, it makes me feel relaxed and connected to nature.
Hi Narwhal10, Yes, coconut really is a very evocative smell isn't it?
My favourite is an actual perfume called L'air du temp, by Nina Ricci. It's been around for years and years and is still quite popular. One of the classic scents now.
I always keep a bottle of it because its scent conjures up a really happy period in my life. My two kids were still young and we were a military family. We received the exciting news that our next posting was to be to Hong Kong, and when we got there we were ecstatic. Money had been tight for all of my marriage, but here in the Far East, with extra allowances, there was some to be actually enjoyed. And my then husband, went out to a local store and bought this fragrance for me.
Even 40 years later, one whiff of it transports me back to that happy and exotic time! 🌈🌸
Thank you Callendersgal for sharing that with us.
L’air du Temp is a lovely fragrance and wow what an experience of being in Hong Kong. You must have some very interesting stories and experiences.
😉 Yes, I was hoping to evoke the memories associated with a particular odour, whether that was a particular time or place.
I put on some Black Opium (Yves Saint Laurent) to lie on my sofa and watch a film. Just because I could. 😃
Great decision Narwhal10. I love fragrances and don't save them for a rainy day. They are for wearing and enjoying and unlike special clothes, they don't have to wait for a special occasion. I love Black Opium too, which conjures up other memories.
I feel blessed to have travelled a lot, as in living in lots of places, rather than as a tourist. It really broadened my knowledge of life and its given me so many memories to enjoy. So if you find me lying back on my sofa and wearing Black Opium, with a strange enigmatic smile, I'm busy conjuring up the past! 😃
L’ Air Du Temps by Nina Ricci was my Mother’s favorite and I kept her supplied with for 3 decades as I had access to frequent duty free shops.
Fresh cut grass and the smell of the sea. 😄😄
Both lovely bobbybobb!
Mine is tarmac
One of mine is petrol
Oh, that's my daughter's favourite! (I thought she was the only one!)
Oh yes Pixie74, newly laid and being re-warmed by the sun!
Definitely freshly cut grass and Davidoff aftershave 😊
You ask what is one of my favorite smells. Am I allowed to have several? Jo Malone Tuberose, Hermes Caleche, Dior Eau Sauvage, Diorissimo, Geurlain Mitsouku. And red Thai curry simmering on my stove.
Elizabeth.
I was a safari guide in the ‘60s and I used to love the warm zoo smell of East Africa, especially when getting back off the plane from England.
