Dear All,

Today I had my Dematology Appointment and Everthing was Ok. Yes the Athlete's Foot, Eczma, Dry Skin, Warts and so on ARE, very much, still there but there were NOT any Major Problems. The 'Dermy' Very Carefully 'checked' under my arms, my hand- where I had had a 'carcinoma' removed, a few years ago now, again All OK.

She recommended using some Daktacort Ointment, once again, but only for a few days. I have two Unopened tubes, both 'In Date', I'll use the oldest one. I asked her to Check Out/ Look At my 'Sore Itchy A**e'.... apparently 'Only' Local Irritation, nothing she could See.

So, in short, my Fingers, Toes, A**e and Facial Itching- whilst Driving Me Mad'- is 'nothing to worry about'! I'll Stick with the E45 cream generally, along with the Sudocrem for my 'Botty'. I wonder if being a Octopus would Help... More 'arms' to scratch with, BUT more 'places' to itch!

I think I'll just 'Do' the sink, of Washing Up, then makr myself a Horlicks- for a change.

Well I'm pleased nothing serious but really feel for you with the itching. I've had a lot of itching for a year now but I wasn't impressed with the Dermatologist I saw last week. He said I had Senile Pruritus even though the biopsy I had in February resulted in thickening of the skin, he basically disagreed with that. He suggested I had phototherapy but I've removed myself from the list as I don't want to be zapped with UVA.

I've found a cream that works, O'Keefes Skin Repair cream, it's really good. I've tried so many other creams but this works.

All the very best and I really hope your itching eases.πŸ™

Glad nothing serious was found AndrewT. As an 'itchy oldie', I can commiserate, but remember what the medics say and 'try not to scratch'. I know it seems irresistible but there really is an itch/scratch relationship with one leading to the other. So keep on applying that cream instead and don't hire an octopus!😊

good to hear its not cancer but I sympathise with the itching. I had this before we moved and wonder if it was the water, I did find anti histamine tablets helped when it was unbearable but mostly Epsom salts in the bath water and immediately after preferably air drying, [the dermatologist gave me a note for GP to give a repeat prescription of] doublebase gel. I still use this prevention and rarely need 1% hydrocortisone ointment on eczema on my fingers.
