What's anyone done today

Fairly quiet here today, not much going on, cleaned the bathroom. My sister's coming over tomorrow, when she came a couple of weeks ago she brought me 4 bags of shopping, told her I don't need anything this week so we'll see what tomorrow brings. Still looking at online courses, so far nothing has jumped out at me so I'll keep on looking, I'm sure I'll find one somewhere

Enjoy the visit from your sister tomorrow.

Online courses, try Future Learn, there are many courses on that site including the course that I am doing at the moment, that's about Covid 19

I'm sure you'll find something online.

I've been shopping which I'm not enjoying at present, went to a farm shop. I then cycled to our city centre and bought stuff from a health food shop and cycled home then made some biscuits for hubby this afternoon.

Today was a workout at home, talk with friends and brothers on the ham radio, walk the dog then wash washed him, got more firewood in since it is supposed to get cool and rain for the weekend (Northern California), and figured out what to cook for dinner. Local fish we caught, fried crisp, grits, and Swiss chard. My wife is making a pie of some sort.

I think that should do it.

Oh, you mean we’re supposed to be doing something since we’re “forced” to stay at home? Lol Well, I cleaned my kitchen drawers (w/vacuum cleaner), watered my plants, did laundry 🧺, swept 🧹 the same floors at least 5 times & let my dog 🐕 go out then come in. Then go out & come back in. Then go back out & come back in and.....

Love the end go back out and come back in...... no wonder you had to sweep the floors so many times lol! My dog sheds constantly he’s a beagle nightmare! 🐶

Lol. Totally understand! Red also is a “shedder”; my vacuum sweeper works fine on him, too!

Hi, Sounds like my cat, in and out all day, just comes home for food. I don't have a cat flap as he tends to bring me presents of live mice and birds!!!

Which is why my cat is an indoor cat! Lol

Years ago we had a beautiful Himalayan who decided he liked the outdoors better! So, he became an indoors/outdoors cat. One morning, as I stepped outside, he had a present for me! A huge RAT! Nope, no more inside/outside cats for me! *S* Life is screwy enough as is - it doesn’t need an assistance!

I live on my own so I'm slowly catching up on stuff that I've let slide for a while (lots of paperwork) and sorting out my little home office, in between usual household/garden chores. Then I'll tackle diy fixes. Moved into my house 3.5 yrs ago and still have little jobs to do. I do telephone befriending calls one day and yesterday did my first lot of batch cooking. I was doing a lot of volunteer work before this but find that I'm enjoying this time with less rushing about.

If you have Netflix rewatch Breaking Bad. All this gardening, DIY and finding stuff to do is totally over-rated!

Stay safe and Good Luck.

Hi Jennymary, I'm happy you've been filling your time OK, but I'd love to see that you've found that online course which you'd be interested in, so you could be absorbed in something new and possibly challenging. So good luck with that quest!

It'll be lovely to have contact with your sister, but do please be careful with any contact, for the safety of you both. It's lucky you have her when you need a shopping top-up.

Meantime I hope you're still managing to get outside for some walks.

I had a very quiet day yesterday too, with nothing much to report. I contacted my daughter to see how she was, as a suspected coronavirus case, but she is still having mild symptoms and continuing to work from home. Her superiors have been very kind and have told her to fit in plenty of naps.

I also called my sister for support after her husband's dementia episode earlier in the week. Things remain on an even keel there, for now.

I watched the first episode of Pilgimage: The Road to Instanbul from BBC2 which I hadn't realised had started, until I saw that episode 2 was coming up last night. So I have that to watch today.

I loved the previous ones to Santiago and Rome. There's something about the mixture of exploration of faith mixed with an exploration of the world that's fascinating. And bringing together a random group of celebrities to undertake it, makes it very entertaining.

Well, now let's see what today brings. I've been threatening to use my sewing machine for some repair jobs, and the machine sits in the corner, where I placed it, over a week ago. It's procrastination I know. I have that wonderful excuse now: there's plenty of time!

I hope you have a happy day today Jennymary, and successfully catch up with your sister. 🙏

Is it safe for you to see your sister? Social distancing means keeping distance from everyone who doesn’t live with you. Seeing her means that now you are in contact with everyone that she’s been in contact with and vice versa.

I went for a walk along the river... there were a few people about, but it was difficult to keep 2m away from everyone.

I went to the supermarket on the way back - and bought two cabbages, some apples etc.

I am trying to keep my tinned and frozen food in reserve.
