Hi Jennymary, how do you feel about returning to work? I did the most impressive painting and then my computer crashed and I lost it π© but logic tells me that it wasnβt meant to be π
Well, Iβve had an exciting afternoon, spent it in bed with vertigo! π€¨π
Iβm sorry to hear that, hope you feel better soon π
Am ok now, otherwise I wouldnβt be on my iPad, but thank you! ππ
It's nervous excitement, as I've said I work on the front reception desk in a leisure centre, lots of people coming and going, I've had an email saying what precautions are in place, and when my General Manager contacted me a couple of weeks ago he said it's reduced opening hours to begin with
That sounds good, they have had plenty of time to make sure that you have a safe place to work π
That will be great to go back to work on 25 July if it's definite!
Today I have applied for 4 jobs, had a 7 mile walk and met my friend in the park and had a walk and a chat, came home and have had a relaxing afternoon watching movies on the sofa as I always feel I have earned that after I have had a walk.
Do you find a shower always feels better after you have exercised and tea tastes better as well?
I normally watch movies on a television...... lol πππ
Wow for a 7 mile walk I can barely do 1 mile
Today I spent a lot of time on the phone. I called up my GP this morning. In the afternoon I telephoned the orthopaedic and urology departments at my local hospital to find out if they were taking on former patients or not. I was seeing them before but a close friend of mine once recommended another hospital in London that was good. So I went by train to the hospital to see the bladder and foot specialists there. Now I have to switch however. Recommendations wanted please for good bladder and foot doctors in Surrey. I don't mind driving to Ashtead or Frimley either. I also want some recommendations for a book on wellbeing to read too thanks in advance.
Granddaughter just been offered job as midwife once she has finished uni placement so celebrating! π€Έπ»ββοΈπ₯π
Congratulations to your grand daughter π
Thank you. She is over the moon.
That's great news for your granddaughter!
Hilda, that is wonderful...what a fabulous job and career. Just think how much good she is going to do in the world. You must be so proud of her. I'm sure that behind many brilliant daughters there is a great supportive mum! Very best regards, Lily
She is my granddaughter and has strived to gain her goal. Her husband left her with a special needs daughter and a new baby but she has finally made it. My daughter and her step-father have been so supportive and we have helped but the hard work is all hers.
I went to the dentist and had some work done. Then folded some kitchen towels. Thank you for asking.
Hi Jennymary, I hope that's good news for you about work. I know you mentioned sometimes that you missed the routine of work, so I hope you're still feeling positive about going back. At least your home is totally decluttered and ready to be left after all the hard work you did during lockdown! You won't have to worry about that again for ages!
I've not done all that much today as I had a bout of my tachycardia for a lot of it, but I did manage to turn out a 'no-knead loaf', baked in my cast iron pot, that's turned out well and might get attacked by me later! Hope you have a good evening!
It's good news about your Job Jennymary. I've had a busy day. After the daily chores, the hounds went for an extra long run as the weather has been good today and the rain has stayed off. Then later this afternoon, I went to have a look at some art supplies and bought a couple of things but I could have quite happily wandered around for much longer just looking at all the amazing stuff, which I'm not quite sure how to use as I'm just learning but I'll figure it out. ππΌ
You've been busy today Jennymary
I'm so pleased you could be back to work soon, that's good news.
I've been on a bike ride, grocery shopping and online banking.
Worked all day. It was hot! 35c. At least I donβt have to work tomorrow. Itβs going to be 35c again. The humidity is high too. Yuck!
Hi Jennymary. Not a lot to be honest. Not feeling great so just a general tidy up . Watched telly and did a bit of reading. but can't settle. I'm climbing the walls, after not going out and not speaking to anyone for days on end. Haven't even been able to potter in garden for last few days. Not literally true,(not speaking to anyone) but DH has dementia, so conversation is quite limited, repetitive, and he is quite argumentative over petty things, which in turn is getting me frustrated and short tempered. Plus phone calls seem to have almost dried up. As we are 81/78 self isolating, are vulnerable and both have health problems, I feel , that if my calls aren't being reciprocated from my younger, fitter 'so called' friends, then I can't be bothered any more either. Petty, I know. But there you go. My anxiety is through the roof and it would be nice to know there was someone who was interested or cared enough to enquire in how we are feeling or coping. On the bright side, we did have a nice surprise on Wednesday afternoon though, my grandson popped in for an hour. He is almost 26 now , on furlough, but only seen him 3 times since beginning of lockdown. So, every cloud and all that! Take care. Things can only get better! I hope! xx
Yesterday I drove over to see my son - from a socially safe distance of course - it was his birthday so I picked up lunch of his choice and took him a small cake too. He sat on the steps outside his door and I sat in the car with the door open and we had a nice chat for a while.
