Trying to make the best of our own individual life circumstances and challenges

I often write on this website as many have been kind enough to offer support and assistance

I have learnt as Lock Down is slowly ending and the impetus to make progressive and positive changes comes from within and our own efforts

Given our own individual circumstances and our mental wellbeing I have learnt that mental illness can extinguish the value we place on ourselves and also can act as a negative force preventing us from seeing our true value

I think this morning I also realise no one can help us but ourselves

My sessions with my Psychotherapist have ended and I realise that we are living in extraordinary times given the mass loss of life and financial hardship experienced by so many

I think I have learnt to grasp life by the nettle and try and continue to try.

What you're saying is so true Roukaya and it's a work in practice. People can help you but ultimately it's down to you. I hope you have a good day. Have you got any plans? Ali 🙂

Good morning

How are you

How is the carpet?

Is it stain free?

I am ok

I think the sessions I had with the Pyschotherapist have come to an end snd this has underlined my thread today in the sense ultimately we are responsible for our own lives and the decisions we take

I recognise I have had a negative mind set for many years and I also realise that I need to work on this

The Psychotherapist was good enough to befriend me at the beginning of Lockdown until yesterday when I was told our sessions will need to come to and end

I decided that the time came to end the sessions before the Psychotherapist would remind me of her intention to end the sessions

I think I will try to look for a years work experience and restart the studies

I will speak to the Estate Agents as I have received the quote and also a hairline crack has been found across the plaster in the Lounge

Deep down I would like to sell the flat the day I find a direction and earn an income

Thank you for asking

How are you

How are you managing your day ?

That all sounds positive and you have a plan going forward. It’s a good idea to visualise things working well for you and any thoughts that conflict with that Get rid of them so you stay focused. With your psychotherapist it sounds like riding a bike. With the psychotherapist being the stabilisers and now you’re riding off putting what you’ve learnt into practice and I’m sure they will be there again if you need them in the future.

Maybe you can be selective as to what you do and don’t do with regard to maintenance before letting the property out?

The carpet is fine. It was a lucky escape. Just a slight variation in shade. It looks a little darker but you wouldn’t notice it. I think that was caused by the water.

Off for a walk now. Have a great day. Ali 🙂

Thank you for your positive and thoughtful reply

Good morning Roukaya, and this is great news. You are increasingly confident in your ability to face troubles and get through them. I know it's not always going to be a good day for you and that it will remain challenging, but you're right. It's the trying that always counts, and that's especially important when going through a bit of a bad time. Wishing you all the best going forward, and continue to try.🙏

Good morning

Thank you for being kind enough to reply

I hope you are safe and well

I think it is the end of my sessions with the Psychotherapist that has brought me this this conclusion

Trying to regain control and autonomy over my life’s direction

Thanks for reply

The website has been of great help to me to be able to call on support as ad when I really needed help

I hope you day goes well

Good morning Roukaya, most don't have happiness and success placed before then, such things are worked at, in fact we have to work at most things before solutions are placed before us. So when you say, you have learnt to try to continue to try, this is a very important tool, in the box of life. When we know we are trying, even if we are not successful at what we are doing, the fact we are trying and doing our best, we should have a sense of personal achievement because we go on and don't give up. I think it's fare to say, we can see that you have become stronger on your journey Roukaya. There will always be up's and down's that are thrown at us, but when we keep trying, we must give ourselves a pat on the back and say, I'm doing okay. 😊🌼🌸

Good morning

Thank you for your kind understanding

Very true

They say success is dependent on effort and I have tried but may be I always had the cloud of depression and anxiety cloud over me

I can see much clearer with greater clarity and I think the Psychotherapist made me see this very clearly

It is important to always persevere in life

Resilience and self belief go hand in hand

I also realise given the savage nature of this Pandemic we should try to grasp and make the best of life

I also admit I should learn to walk the talk

I had a zoom talk with a social group but I had to leave the group given my facial expressions

No doubt I will have to work on this

But awareness is the first step

I expect you have always been a determined and compassionate person always willing to listen and be strong and well as kind

Very good qualities to exemplify especially in Nursing

I hope you have a successful day ahead and thank you for being kind enough to listen

You will get there; you just need to stand up to the little voice which says You Can't and tell it I Will! You are good enough, I couldn't study a subject like Wills and Probate; it would drive me daft! I have a cousin who is a Solicitor, and I am in awe of her, I just couldn't do that.

I much preferred the hands on aspects of Nursing to anything that required me to channel my energies into just one path. I like variety in my work, and meeting people when they really need my help.

This is why I tell people when they ask why I know about most subjects, that my interests are wide and varied, and although my I.Q. is Mensa level, I prefer to be gathering information about many things rather than channel myself into one area. Also, being old helps, lots of Life Experience. I guess that makes me a Generalist, rather than a Specialist.

Go forward with hope and determination, you Will get there!

Cheers, Midori

Good morning

I hope you are safe and well

I would like to thank you for your kind words of support

I expect knowing that I no longer have the support of the Psychotherapist has made me realise more than ever the importance of standing on my own two feet

I also like variety too

I think that we should never compare ourselves to others

We really are what God made us

We all have a unique path to follow

I am also grateful that the Psychotherapist made me see many aspects of my own mental anxiety which can be triggered by the worries of my Mother

But I see this now

But in your own way you have fought adversity and are making a new home as a new start

I think this is quite incredible

It's nothing special. Sheer bloodymindedness and obstinacy, also having to keep going for the children's sake.

Cheers, Midori
