Fishing ban has been lifted but under strict rules. Anglers must drive alone, wear gloves and sanatise your hands when handling locks and opening gates, fishing 15 mtres apart etc I have been on self-isolation since the pandemic started. Tbh I am tempted to go fishing locally, it seems just as safe as being at home, can't see any problems. Anymore anglers on the forum, any views on this?

Do they offer proof that 15m is required for fishing... when 2m is thought to be adequate for everything else - even inside?

I'm no angler Dallo100, but I'd agree it can do little harm. Fishing is a fairly solitary sport and hardly likely to be drawing masses of people to the same spot. I'd say give it a try and just don't stay in the unlikely event that there are too many people around.

Good news for fishermen. No such luck here in Scotland as yet😊

From this post I would guess your not a regular angler(I am so here’s some info). You will need an Environment Agency rod license to fish. No fishing on rivers as its currently the closed season until 16th June. Ok on lakes/ponds/reservoirs and canals. Towpath on canals a bit narrow so social distancing can be an issue. Most lakes etc are controlled either by clubs or individuals and may not be open yet or if they are can be very busy from what I’ve seen and heard. Biggest issue is having to put faith in others to behave as you would to protect yourself which seems to beyond the abilities of some! Tight lines if you go.

I think you should - what seems to have been lost in recent weeks is as long as you maintain you distance, 2 metres or whatever for angling, the biggest thing is hand washing/ sanitiser and not touching you face, cough or sneeze into a tissue and dispose of - or your elbow. The important thing about gloves is to dispose of them safely once you’ve touched anything because if you then touch your rod or your phone etc you can transfer any infection to them. Happy fishing stay safe ❤️🌈
