I had bipolar and I have been advised to get back into touch with my GPs. I have been discharged from the mental health team. I had been working with a counselling team at college as I was struggling to cope with my recovery and my exams because I was recovering from bipolar at the start of January and my exams was at the end of January. I am glad for this lockdown as I am healing better than I would have been in college. Most of all we can beat this virus. Please stay safe everyone.
Has everyone else find something like this that helps with their recovery?
I have never understood why a "mental health team " would discharge someone with a chronic illness who will need medication adjustments by someone skilled at such things. What do you do if you have an acute need of such a service? Call your GP? Bless you on your journey.
I was discharged as I finished the treatment and I was on a 6 month review before being discharged to my GPs. And it is also my GPs who advised me to use my college counselling services.
It is important to get in touch with your GP. Your GP is best able to keep a record of your symptoms and know if any adjustment might be needed in your medication. You are right about the virus, we will beat it. You have a great day. 😊😊
Still the GP can re refer you to services if you feel you need them. It's good to know you have some support in place if you need it. It's great you are finding the lockdown of benefit and are coping well with it all. ☺☺
They advised me that as they was concerned regarding the virus doing the rounds and I have asthma. If I get this virus it could kill me so they advised me to use college counselling services as I could contact them by email but now I can't.
I am going out for a walk later. I double checked with my GPs regarding me being in insolation due to having asthma they told me that I don't need to be but becareful when I go out
I hope you enjoy your walk and the weather looks like it will stay fine today hopefully. It's good to get out for a bit of exercise and fresh air. So make the most of it. 🌷🌼🌻
Oh yes it's best to keep mobile. You stiffen up so bad if you don't move about especially your spine as I should imagine that would be very painful if you couldn't get a bit of exercise. ☺☺
That is a tremendous amount for anyone to go through. You have come through it well. Some members of my family have asthma, it is a scary thing. You are right not to take anything for granted, every day is precious. We are glad for what we have. 👍👍😊
Hi Kamilla22,
I see you've, quite rightly, had a strong response to your post. So I'll keep this short. Well done on your lovely positivity and thanks for reminding us to be positive too. Wishing you every good wish in the future. 🦋

All I know that we can get through this and the doctors around the world are doing their best to save lives.
Hi Hidden
I'm so glad that this lockdown is helping with your Bipolar. But I do agree with the comments below as your GP needs to speak to you about your treatment and the way forward. My own daughter was diagnosed with Bipolar a few years ago and it took quite a while before she was on the right meds, we went through a very difficult time with her before she saw a different doctor.
I would definitely suggest seeing a GP about your meds.
Take care and stay strong, you will beat this. I only have to look at my daughter now to see the difference in her.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you ever thought of Hypnotherapy? It's something I had years ago for a very bad phobia and it worked really well.
