I am wondering if anyone has any experience of CBD drinks or oil?I read that it can help with inflammation but also that it can react with steroids.

Any advise gratefully received.

Consensus of option says not really for PMR - but might aid sleep.

Now you have posted - check out the Related Posts that have appeared. On the whole, the feeling has been that it did nothing for PMR itself but for some may have helped with add-ons. What it seemed to do for everyone who tried it was empty their wallets to the benefit of the purveyor of the CBD!!!!

The reaction with steroids is to enhance its effects - so in theory it could be a steroid-sparer but it didn't seem to work that way for people. Made the less desirable effects worse though.

I take some CBD oil under my tongue if I find I can't sleep. Other than that it doesn't seem to have any effect on me.

I took cbd for almost the whole 8 yrs until remission. I did alit of research back then and I liked that it could help the immune system but more over with mood.

The prednisone really effected me psychologically. The devil on one shoulder and the old me on the other.

All of a sudden about 2-3 mos in I just felt better emotionally. I was on medical grade cbd and took it in the evening.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. It's such a minefield trying to juggle everything. I want to be able to reduce the steroids but am getting nowhere. Just wondered if cbd would help.

For me personally it helped with mood and dropping. At 25mg I had a hard time dropping 1mg using the dead slow method. As I mentioned all of a sudden I felt better after aprox 3mos.

If you post a new thread with details of how you are trying to taper and what your problems are, we'll try and help you sort it out. Ignore me if you've already done that and we've answered - but we can almost always identify where things might be going wrong.

Not much at all. I've tried vaping it, a cbd cream, cbd oils of various strengths. Waste of money. I'm told I need a little more thc in the mix, but don't like the high feeling

I tried CBD (in an attempt to combat insomnia on initial higher doses of prednisone). It didn't really help and I think it is contraindicated when on Prednisone, so I have discontinued it. A naturopath suggested that Omega 3 supplements may help with inflammation and help me to reduce the Prednisone dose. That did seem to help as my CRP results dropped and I have had no flares since I started taking a "therapeutic" dose of 400 mg EPA and 200 mg DHA as directed twice daily. I use a third party tested fish oil supplement. I am reducing my Prednisone dose via .5 mg drops using the DSNS taper schedule from this forum. Presently at 6.5 mg from 20 mg after 17 months since PMR diagnosis.
