I have read a lot about CBD oil and know some of you take it. But I just found this article that said it interfers with prednisone making it stronger. Do you suppose one could get off the prednisone faster with it. This says do not take together. Any CBD users out there? wayofleaf.com/cbd/101/does-...

CBD OIL
“Do you suppose one could get off the prednisone faster with it”
No because the article says don’t take both together. - and the suggestion to stop Pred (in the way PMR & GCA patients take it - ie. long term) to try CBD is highly irresponsible of the author.. .even though they do caveat it.
Always a bit suspicious when it comes from commercial rather than medical sources -
“Founded in 2015, WayofLeaf.com has become one of the world’s largest medical marijuana resources “
The reason they say not to use it together is because it will probably also increase the adverse effects! It increases the level in the blood/tissues. Every time this question comes up I say I'd like to see a study in its use as a steroid sparer!
Like all steroid sparers except tocilizumab it is unlikely to get you off pred faster - you will need pred as long as the underlying autoimmune disorder that causes the inflammation is active. Nothing has been found that works on that - though tocilizumab has some effect on the pathway that makes the inflammatory substance that is most involved in PMR, IL-6. It might, as I have explained mean you get more effect from the same oral dose. But that isn't necessarily a good thing - if more is getting into the system it will also increase the effect in terms of side effects too.
Marijuana recently became legal in Maine, USA. I read that article and thought it was so reckless of them to word their information in a way that could be so easily misinterpreted by the reader and cause such serious harm...
So many people see this as a cure-all. I know an individual with ankylosing spondylitis who received a 'medical card' to be able to purchase it to smoke to relieve pain. Quite bluntly, from what I witnessed there, the smoking became constant.
A few non-medical people have suggested I smoke it or eat it....they truly just don't understand the effects and the harm it could do. I'm no authority but I'll steer clear of the CBD, THC, etc, Call me old-fashioned~xo
I tried at least 3 different brands of CBD and gave them each a month or more to do something. I know everybody is different but I didn’t notice any change and believe me I had so hoped it would help me.
I agree with the others and anyway, even if you could rush off Pred because the PMR was being helped by CBD, it doesn’t help with adrenal dysfunction problems if you reduce Pred too quickly. This bit can take ages.
Really, really wish people would stop looking for something magical to make PMR go away. It will, maybe, but only in its own time.
In teh meantime, you could be wrecking other aspects of your health with interactions and side effects that you don't know about.
I have been taking cbd oil for over 2 years 2 hours apart from my pred and feel it has helped me. Ive experienced no negative effects.
BTW Israeli studies using cbd as a steroid sparer are continuing with very promising results.
