I did have a look at FAQ's but there was a good thread about travel insurance a while ago, and I can not find it. I gather links will come up after this post

travel insurance for 80+
Just had a look through the linked posts and can't find what I wanted. I thought there had been discussion about best insurance for over 80's cruising. If there was, pls point me in the right direction. I can obviously plough through the comparison sites but it was the recommendations from others that would be most helpful.
I am 81 and we are with Nationwide who have a Flexplus account which cover travel, car breakdown and phones. There is no age limit as such. I pay £13.00 a month plus extras for existing health issues and for holidays exceeding 31 days. We moved there after travel insurance first with Barclays and then Santander until age caught up with us
Hope this helps
Might be a reply in this - haven’t time to look at moment …
We use Saga - PMR costs about £1.50 additional on a single trip but we have other issues so expensive. Paid up quickly for cancellation this year. GP and Iglu caused delay. Read small print - they won’t all send you to private hospital.
my husband is over 80, & I am under, but have 12 medical conditions. When I added PMR to my existing annual policy it didn’t add any money to the insurance quote. I have just replied at length to the 2nd query this morning, you may want to look at those answers. Basically I got 40 quotes, but many companies refused us due to medical issues & some won’t insure over 80’s. Last year I used Avanti (who have a 20% offer available atm) & Free Spirit. But cruising is always dearer, it’s the first question asked. Basically a cruise ship is a huge floating Petri dish (I used to work for a laboratory company). Bugs & germs like Covid, flu, norovirus, spread very easily in the confined spaces, so insurance quotes will normally be higher. But everybody’s quote is individual..l shared details on ours on other post this morning, but need to do some chores now!
Thanks. The pmr has never been an insurance issue. It is the age of my otherwise healthy but 80 yr old travel companion. Never caught the nasty bugs on board in 20 yrs of cruising, although did come back with swine flu in 2009 (ish).
