Can anyone advise on where to go for Travel insurance now I have GCA please (nearly 5 months ago since diagnosis)? I already have to tell them about Cancer from 6 years ago so I'm dreading what this will put my insurance up to! We're going to Denmark to see my son & his family so only short haul and we usually get multi-trip for Europe insurance. Any advice on where to go gratefully received.

Got ours through StaySure

I had mine with LV when I had GCA -and they seemed more interested in my osteoarthritis than my GCA….
Dear Janeval,
You can Try Use 'StaySure' as Nagswoman suggested, they are Not Bad, However I prefer All Clear myself, Very Friendly and Very 'Reasonably Priced' too. They can be 'Reached' on 0800-640-4829, or ''AllClearTravel.co.uk'', during Normal Office Hours.
There Will be a 'Range', of questions, prior to you receiving a Quote.... DO be Completely Honest and, if you 'Don't Know' then Say So.
There Policy amendments are also, Very Easy, and Inexpensive to- unlike some Insurers (something worth Bearing In Mind).
Overall Definitely MY Recommendation.

Nationwide Flex-Plus account offers insurance as part of the package. Following underwriting my PMR was accepted without extra charge and my husband's previous heart attack, Prostate Cancer (watching and waiting treatment) and Tpye 2 Diabetes plus his age of 82 were all accepted for about £250 extra.
We use Saga
GCA didn’t really worry them (Alliance) even when I was 5 months in and on 18mg Pred. My cancer being over 5 years away didn’t cause a stir either but that does depends on certain factors like ongoing medication and any evidence of spread.
All Clear for me and my husband! Staysure absolutely not!
I have PMR plus several other conditions. My husband had a gall bladder removal op in the past year plus was awaiting a hernia op, Having gone through all the questioning with Staysure we were less than happy with them. We felt rushed through the process by a foreign call handler who could speak very good English but wasn’t very friendly or patient. Didn’t fancy having to deal with someone like that if we needed to claim. As you have a certain period to cancel, we decided to try Avanti. The person we spoke to was just the opposite, she was English and very warm, patient and reassuring. The price wasn’t much different but we decided to cancel Staysure and go with Avanti. (My breast cancer didn’t count after 5 years)
' Insure with" are excellent for people with underlying health conditions especially cancer.
I use Saga. Seem
Good. Always helpful.. but does seem expensive…haven’t investigated many others.
