The recent interview with Dr Mackie posted here mentioned Cogentyx (Secukinumab) as a possible treatment for GCA. Just curious if anyone's tried it. I've tried Actemra, Leflunomide and Rinvoq without much luck.

Have you ever had a differential cytokine analysis?

I don't know if you saw it but there was an Indian gentleman who posted about his wife's experiences with an initial diagnosis of GCA, but she didn't respond to Actemra. They did a blood test of all the cytokines - and found that 2 were raised and then they changed the biologic to one that was relevant to one of the raised ones,

There is no point at all using a biologic unless the cytokine involved is the right one. They are so specific that it MUST be the right one - bit like the wheel to fit YOUR car, not the neighbour's!
