Hi everybody, yesterday evening I had an appointment with my new Rheumy. I was actually dreading it due to my last experience with the previous rheumatologist. Well I have to say he was brilliant listened to me, Then going on my symptoms and doing an ultrasound on my hands and looking at all my blood results, told me he thinks I have Inflammatory arthritis. Today I have had numerous bloods taken, X-rays on my Spine, pelvic area, hips and hands. He will call me with the results next week.
He said he will put me on Methexotrate to which I am apprehensive and to be honest scared, he gave me a Steroid injection last night. But to be honest I have to give it a try anything to get me out of this awful burning which seems to be taking over my body.
My depression has lifted purely as I feel more positive and want to look ahead something I haven’t done for a good while.
Thank you all for being there you are a lifeline for people like me.

Hi wonderfullifeandmore - so happy to hear your news. My initial diagnosis was PMR later changed to seronegative RA. I belong to both sites as treatments can overlap and symptoms are similar. I get a lot of support from reading both sites.
I’m on methotrexate, firstly on tablets which didn’t agree with me then switched to weekly injections. Try not to be scared rather try to look at it as an opportunity to get your life back. If methotrexate doesn’t work for you then we are blessed that other treatments exist which might help. I’m sure you will find the right treatment for you with the guidance of your Rheumy.
