update on my Homeopathic remedy treatment

I was diagnosed with PMR in March this year (2019), took Prednison ( 20mg) until August, tried to taper down slowly, but had to start over because of flair ups.

Had an appointment -- consultation with a Homeopathic Doctor for 3 sessions and intensive interview.

Took one pellet of Causticum, which was deemed to be right for me.

Tapered off 1mg about every 5 days with no flare ups and I have been now completely off Prednison for more than 3 weeks. In between I had taken a few pellets whenever I felt a bit off.

I went to have my blood tests done here at the clinic and found out today that I am free of any inflammation. I will have a follow up meeting with Homeopathic Doctor to give more advice on strengthening my immune system through food and maybe some herbs. I am back to doing my daily exercises and walks to improve my muscles.

This was my experience with Homeopathic remedies. My regular Doctor was very interested in the results at the last appointment. I hope some of you will give it a try, you never know what will work for you.

I am sure glad to be off the steroids and the see - saw up and down of reducing that I experienced, the same as so many of you. My best to all of you on this forum.

That's interesting and a great result for you.

Can you update us again in another month, and then at three months, to let us know how you are getting on , if things are still going positively , it would be good to know before Forum users consider beginning research into this that the results were long term for you.

Good luck

Yes, of course, I feel very positive about my experience. I know how many people suffer with this, as have I, and hopefully there will be more good Homeopathic Doctors available (and covered by insurance) in the future.

You didn't mention what the dosage of the causticum was that you took and how often you took it. you mentioned tapering right after and wasnt sure whether you were tapering causticum or prednisone, would appreciate a clarification as I'd also like to try this. many thanks and good luck

After taking my first little pellet of Causticum, I felt great and had a lot of energy

for several days. I was advised to taper off the Prednison and use my own judgement on how fast or slow I wanted to go. Since I felt good, I started right away going down 1mg that day. After 4 days -- still good. Reduced another mg.

And so I continued listening to my body and reducing 1 mg sometimes after 4 days, sometimes after 5 or 6 days. A few times I felt kind of listless and unsettled and decided to take a pellet of Causticum. ( dissolved under tongue).

I felt actually that I could have gone faster, but wanted to play it safe.

All in all I have taken only 6 pellets in the time between the beginning of August and the ending of October when I was down to zero Prednison. I can tell you, I was 'holding my breath' and was a bit anxious that day, but no flare ups or pain of any kind.

I asked the Homeopathic Dr. if I should be taking any other herbs now, to strengthen my immune system. He replied that the Causticum is doing that already, to keep taking one pellet from time to time. I figure once a week or so, maybe? I will report more after a while. There will be some other tests he recommended to be able to give me further advise. Something to do with zinc and copper levels in my system.

I was talking to a health insurance advisor and she felt that Homeopathic treatments will also be covered eventually, as have other alternative medicines like Acupuncture and Chiropractic treatments and different kinds of Massages.

thankyou, hope it keeps going well for you. I am just trying the causticum, I'm at 2.5 prednisone and plan is to be off of it and hope the causticum will take away enough of the inflammation that I remain mobile.....

I must mention here that Causticum is not necessarily for everyone, even though you can buy it on Amazon. The remedy must resonate with the person, not the disease or the symptoms.( so says Homeopathic doctor)

I would recommend looking up the 'International Journal of Complementary &

Alternative Medicine'. On the internet. The paper I have on Causticum with lists of character traits is from Volume 1 Issue 5-2015.

It also helps to eat as healthy as possible and go for nice long walks ( in nature if possible) to keep your muscles from getting too weak. Steroids are hell on muscles.
