I had an rheumatologist appointment 8 February which was thorough and resulted in a plan of action. It took until the next morning to process it all but it’s encouraging that action is being taken.
My pred was increased to 30 for 2 weeks and then will slowly be reduced. A booster steroid injection that took place yesterday. I’m having X-rays on both feet, knees, hands and chest. More blood tests. Because of problems other than PMR the rheumatologist suspects rheumatoid arthritis.
I have severe osteoarthritis in my left hip which needs replacing but not until my inflammation levels have been lowered. Last CRP reading was 150.
A lot to process!
I have accepted that I have good days/nights and bad. The worse is always lack of sleep. Awareness is key for me, being gentle and patient with myself, enjoying the good the days and resting on my bad days.
Much of the early morning stiffness is gone and my hand/wrist exercise have really helped.
Undoubtedly the horrendous pain from my hip overrides everything without that life would be easier. I had the right hip replaced about 11 years ago and that was very successful and all the pain went instantly. Looking forward to the left hip being sorted.
