forgot to take prednisone this morning, I think.

I'm on 30 mg prednisone for PMR/GCA and I am pretty sure I forgot this morning...at 6AM...it is now 7PM and don't know if I should take it now or wait until 6AM....or maybe just take a 20mg? Any advise? I am also on 4th shot of Actemra.

How are you feeling? When I forget I start to really hurt after about eight hours or so which tells me I have forgotten! Personally I would take some extra just in case perhaps 20mg if I were feeling a bit achy, then carry on as normal.

slight headache, but tolerable. Took 20 mg and will go back to normal 30 mg in the morning… thank you… most people agree the best way is take it and the worst that could happen is insomnia tonight.

I forgot a couple of times when I was on a high dose. By tea time I was starting to feel weird. Not achy, but strange in the head, like having electric shocks across my scalp. Also feverish. I knew immediately what it was and took my pred, to almost instant relief.

HI Joseph, I agree with the others, if I forgot, I took as soon as I discovered I missed it. I have been on it for 7 years and down to 5mg. When I’ve tried to go lower, I have a flare. My rheumatologist says to stay right there, as a flare causes me to go to higher dose, then slowly return to 5.

I find putting my medication into dosette boxes which are labelled with the days of the week and morning, noon and night is helpful. I can see instantly if I have forgotten to take something.
