Forgot to take preds

just realised at 10.20 pm I didn't take my steroids which I normally take 8 am, not been feeling good all day and have got headache and eye pain with a vengeance. Should I take the preds now or leave it until the morning.

I managed to do the same thing, twice, but never again!! I just took the dose as soon as I realised, then carried on as normal.

I have GCA and PMR and am on 30 mg a day just gone down this week from 35mg

so take the full dose now and again at 8 am or should I spread it out a bit until I get back to normal times

Lily, yes, the full dose now, and then perhaps delay the full dose for several hours tomorrow before returning to normal times the day after. Important to get the dose into you quickly especially in view of the GCA diagnosis, the high dose and the fact that you are already experiencing a return of the head and eye pain.

I did the same a few days ago! I'm on 20 mg, mornings. I took 10 mg that night, and 12.5 g ( or it might have been 15 mg) in the morning. That seemed to avert any crisis! Good luck J

Yes lily, I've done that too. I felt ill all day, couldn't understand why then at about 8.30pm saw my tablets next together coffee maker. As Celtic has said I took mine immediately then the following day at mid day then the day after that at my normal time of 8am. I hope you feel better soon. Regards, christina
