I know many here can relate. I’ve been late before, but today I was 7 hours late!
I usually take my prednisone in the morning between 9- 11 am. My sister took me to an early fasting lab appointment. I took prednisone with me to take afterwards and totally forgot about it! Ive been cooped up the house for weeks, not feeling good, and I so enjoyed seeing her and talking etc. , having coffee and croissants, that prednisone was the last thing on my mind.
I took a nap when i got home and woke up feeling terrible with a temple headache and aches. I saw the prednisone on the counter and realized I hadn’t taken it. Looked at my daily notes and saw today that I had missed my dose.
I took ibuprofen for the headache and just took the 11 mg. Prednisone, which Is where I am on the taper I still have the headache in the right temple. My headache when originally diagnosed with GCA was occipital in the right side of the back of my head, not in the temple.
I recently started a slow taper from 11 to 10 and took 10 yesterday. Is there any need to take extra prednisone because of taking it late today?
The pandemic and stress seems to have done a number on my memory!

It isn't usually suggested - but I'd leave the taper for a week to make sure you are over the hiccup. It's always a good idea to set an alarm when you get out of your routine like that, it's so easy to switch on autopilot.
Just tried to post on the site about now having symptoms, shoulder pain, tinnitus, worsening hearing problems on right side wher I had initial )occipital) head pain, put my message wouldn’t post, don’t know why
Site having a paddy maybe - it can have a mind of its own! If you feel up to writing it again, do it in Word and copy and paste it into the site so you don't lose it.
It’s another confusing tech thingy. I posted yesterday about forgetting the Pred, etc. well now I’m having symptoms and deciding if I should up the Pred, etc
Oh I forgot my before bed dose of 9mg last week and only realised at 7am. This was because I was on holiday and normal routines were put the window.
I took it as soon as I realised but it's coated and took some time to get up to speed. If I had been at home I would have scrabbled around for my uncoated 😂.
I felt completely and utterly devoid of energy and a bit nauseous. Had to do a very slow walk up to the red squirrel hide (we like our early starts and wildlife) and told other half to not crash the car on the way 😂.
Interestingly though, the pain only started to niggle around lunchtime.
I won't forget again that's for sure and I suspect you won't either!
