DEXA Result
Good news,.. a reminder that the NHS is still functioning alongside Covid.
Good News and I had Dexa after 6 months starting pred. Then every year still I stopped pred. I had GCA BTW and would not take AA when offered it. Bones never moved 97% first time and same 5 years later.
No sign of osteopenia is well impressive! That would be normal at our age.
Thatβs Great Peter! Way To Go!....
Brilliant!
Excellent. Well done you and the NHS.
Thatβs great Bicol. My dexaβs results are back. Receptionist rang to say so and not to worry but GP will call to discuss!
Envious! Waited 6 months to get a diagnosis and since that point I have been on Steroids for 7 months. Started at Medrol (Pred equiv 20mgs). Now down to 15/16 mgs, Pred. I went for a Dexa today and hips are borderline but lower back is osteoporotic. I will try to attach results - are they v bad? I haven't seen Gp Doc yet just the technician. I am taking 4000iu and big Calcium. I walk 35 mins a day (dogs). What should I consider now? How do I go about strengthening the bones? Is it just muscles which bosses the bones into strengthening or some other methodology? Or is it more meds. Thank you!
Can't say anything without t-score numbers - if you want to add an image it has to be as a new post.
I can't upload page for some reason. Apologies. On the graph the BMD is on left, and the T-Score on right. Total at the top. Age at the bottom. The score is in the red at 2.5. Does that help?
