At my last Rhuemy appt we talked about my dexa scan numbers that my GP had. Rhuemy didn't have results in front of him but I told him all numbers had been positive. He said he would look at it and calculate my pred dose which would project different numbers. I am at about 8 on pred which is about where I was last year. Can anyone give me more info about how these numbers are figured? I never heard back from him so assume all is well.

Dexa scan numbers with pred dose added.
Waiting for my results too.
I know the FRAX score should be included to give a better context - but I have NEVER heard of steroid dose being incorporated. Being on steroids is assumed to be a risk factor - which may be fair enough but it isn't a given that it will result in loss of bone density and if the bone density is really good anyway it may well not ever end up in the risk zone. I would put money on it being a sales push from the pharmaceutical companies.

His comment was the first I had heard. I can't think of anything that would induce me to take any more drugs. Thanks.
I think this article was what he was talking about. He mentioned the WHO. But we also talked about my dose in the midst.. He did ask about my mom's bones. No hip bone problems with her. Is there a way we can figure out our numbers with this?
Did you mean to add a link?
No I was responding after reading your link.
What "numbers" do you mean?
I am wondering with my deca scan numbers how they get the Frax score?
How alarming! I have seen nothing about this ghastly projection. Fingers in the ears and la la la, if it were me.
