I attended my first PMR support group meeting on Glasgow on Monday. I was diagnosed in June with PMR and since then have been trying to find out as much as I can about it. I did this forum to be so informative and answers a lot if my questions.
It was so good to be amongst others with the same condition and to share experiences. People were at various stages in their recovery. A couple of newbies, which included me, right through to people who have come out the other side of all of this. I came away from the meeting feeling very positive. Luckily for me I have a great GP and share with her what I'm learning about PMR and we are working together on this.
It was great to meet everyone on Monday and I'm looking forward to catching up with them again in the future.

Thank you for posting. I think it would be nice if people posted after their local support group meetings more often. It might encourage others to start a group local to them.
Hi Richard, I was glad I came along to the meeting. So good to meet everyone. My operation went well. Six week recovery period now and then onwards and upwards.
The Glasgow group meet every two months , so that next meeting is in November. I'm sure they said it is always on the second Monday of the month. Details will be posted nearer the time. I found it very interesting and useful. Hope to see you there!
