Hi Lincolnshire PMR sufferers, I've been advised to start a separate page on this subject so that those of us who live in Lincolnshire and are interested in getting together for a meeting/ discussion group on a regular basis can contact me to express an interest.

I'm suggesting Woodthorpe Garden Centre as a place to meet. Their main venue is just outside of Alford which is my home town. It has a lovely restaurant, where they serve superb food including a seven day a week carvery, nice cakes and good coffee. They sell all sorts of garden equipment, and a huge range of plants, indoor and outdoor, plus sections for clothing, cards, shoes, china, etc. It goes on for miles, and you can bring your dogs even into one part of the restaurant section. Plenty of room to park, of course free, and there are people on hand to lift heavy bags of earth , gravel etc. into your car. It is easy to spend practically a whole day there.

I have already heard from those who live outside the County and so won't be able to come, but not from anyone who would like to come, although a couple have expressed an interest.

On the 15th of March I intend to be sitting at a table in the restaurant section at 12 pm, wearing a bright purple jacket so that you will be able to identify me. I would love to meet those of you who think this is a good idea and would like to make it a regular social occasion and a useful way to share our experiences. Lets try it and see if it is something we might like to continue with.

I would appreciate it if anyone who intends to come along on the 15th could let me know so that I won't be sitting there on my own like a lemon, waiting for no-one!🤥 Pris80

Definitely interested in a Lincolnshire support group. Cannot make the next one . As I live in the north of the country perhaps moving around to different locations would be welcome.

Hi Haggis and Tatties, thank you for replying. I'm guessing you are originally from Scotland? It would be nice to meet you. The trouble with Lincolnshire being such a long thin county is that some places can be miles away from each other. How far South are you?

Maybe it is worth someone getting details of where everyone is and plotting them on a map - could turn out you have the making of a 2-centre approach if all you are wanting in the first instance is to meet for coffee and a chat. Then maybe at some point you could arrange a meet-up of both groups ...

Dorset group is in the process of trialling running 2 groups - but still joining up for certain things - second one being more central in county. The original one has always been on the east side - and a although 50-60 odd miles as the crow flies doesn’t sound a long way to travel -it can be a right pain on some of our rural roads.

50-60 miles is a long way if you need public transport! And a long way in a car if it coincides with peak grockel season. It's only 30km to the next town here - half an hour with the car normally, 45min with the bus - tourist season often 2 hours!! And no alternative route ...

Didn't want to mention grockles and upset anyone -but it does seem to be longer and longer! As for public transport outside certain areas -forget it!

Well quite - especially in the UK. Does it even exist? I am so spoilt here.

Well it does exist -“but I not as we know it Jim!” Apologies if you’re not a Star Trekkie - neither am I 🤦🏻‍♀️

There will be 5 of us there on the 15th and I'm not expecting anything but an informal chat at this stage.Actually Alford and Woodthorpe are pretty central on the map of Lincolnshire. Also Woodthorpe Garden Centre is very easy to get around....all on the ground floor, everything on the flat, no steps or stairs or other obstacles to negotiate and supermarket type trolleys at the entrance which you can hang on to on the way round, which with my walking and balance issues I find very helpful.

Hi I am between Grantham and Boston (near Sleaford).I am nearly 2years into this journey, and have not had a lot of help or support from my doctors. This forum had been a godsend for me to learn about other people's journeys and see that I am not alone when I've struggled.

It would be great to be able to meet up with other people who are in the same boat.

I am fairly new to this area so had to check the map to see where you were talking about, but I'm more than happy to travel for the 15th.
