Update: I went to see Tony (the pony!) yesterday and had a good chat with his lovely owner. It helped both of us to see how I was - when I said slow walk to the field I really meant slow... I got such a boost from seeing him, even the smell of the stables (yes, you probably need to be a horsy person to understand that) I was proud to manage the drive okay - with a stop half way back. I decided I could probably build up to gentle grooming and (with help lifting saddle, some gentle riding but mucking out may take a long while(shame!) She’s happy for me to do that, yay! So still have share , just reduced commitment. Very happy.
Belated thanks for advice on my trip to Manchester. I decided to just go for it (in a measured way) because it’s special to be with my grandsons. I upped the Pred a little and accepted that the trip might have a cost. Amazingly, after one day feeling knocked out , I was okay.
I wonder how much doing what we love gives us a bit of a boost to counter the fatigue a little?
Again thank you everyone who has shared their experience, given advice and helped me think through some of the challenges - cranberryt; Ranchero ;PMRPro; Poopadoop; Maisie1958; DorsetLady; DianeA1; Noosat; SheffieldJane; Rugger; scats; Telian. (I couldn’t find a way to ‘tag’ people..)

That is brilliant. Doing things and seeing people we love are the only things that matter when you have little energy. I find that even if my body protests it gives me a boost.well done!
Hmm, when the option comes up I think you click on it. Sorry, left out that step in my description. The names should be blue and the @ should have disappeared. The marvels of modern technology!
When I have a trip I want to take that might be challenging distance or time wise, I book some cheap little room halfway along. Here in the US, you can always cancel a reservation with a chain hotel/motel if you call by 6PM. It might be worth doing some research so you can have a Plan B if you need it.
Would love to see shots of Tony the Pony and the grands...
It seems that grandsons do work magic. Just this past weekend, I travelled 3 hrs to see my grandson (my husband drove). It turned out to be the tonic I needed. I felt so refreshed that I did most of the drive home. Very uplifting.
