The good news: my 3 yr PMR journey continues smooth after 2 years of hiccups, and I have started a DSNS reduction of Prednisolone to 3.5 from 4 mg per day. After a visit to my hip replacement surgeon, my new right hip is doing well and I can start swimming, not breast stroke, and driving again, though not in my sports car. I have started to cook dinner occasionally, much to hubbie's delight. I can dance at our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
The bad news: the increasing demands on my left hip as I get mobile again are causing severe pain in that hip and knee. The surgeon says the left hip is mentioned in the original paperwork and he will lseek permission from NHS to replace left hip on original referral, speeding up the process. So I told Hubbie he will be back on full time carer soon! The raised toilet seat has to be used so re-borrowed from Red Cross, and I must stay on 2 crutches. Fingers crossed .....sorted and recovering before Christmas.
