A visit to the opticians for my annual check up on Thursday. He said my eyes in real terms were in excellent condition, yes a slight deterioration, first in three years, so need new glasses but no signs of Glaucoma or any other nasties, even after four plus years of Pred, so no need to refer me up the line again.Secondly, a on-line email saying that a consultant was about to review my CTS referral and so I should get some news soon.
Just back from taking three littlies GC's back home after a weekend with us and finally relaxing with some wine in time for Strictly results. 😀😀 Assuming I can stay awake that long!!!!!

Excellent. And glad you have had a good weekend with the small people.
Far more important things to watch here - Sinner winning the ATP Finals. And I found rugby - on AUSTRIAN TV!! Not that THAT match was worth it ... And I have had a good medical week too!!!!!
But notably better than that Welsh attempt - on paper though! The tennis was good - not the grace of Roger Federer but a lovely down to earth guy and plays very good tennis. He has a definite pattern, plays 4 games to 2-2 if necessary, then turns up the dial to break and then calmly gets to 6-4. You can see the opponent just standing and looking at where the ball went ...
So I hear!! The Guardian was a bit scathing. Not that I really am bothered. How have Scotland been doing? Hadn't realised I can see the matches here at all until yesterday but don't know when the matches are either.
No it doesn’t…. Some are in transition with younger players, but some coaches [Eng for example] select excellent players, but then make then play a different way and position! Why?
You can then add to that, if an England player, actual or possible decides to play for a club abroad then they are not allowed to play for England and as a number of our top player decide to play abroad, whether for experience or money then the coach can't pick them. Absolutely stupid in my opinion and a rule that no other countries have.
Discussion on recent BBC rugby podcast - on just that, from ex England players - and pointing out SA, Argentina & NZ to a lesser degree have players that tout their daily skills in other countries.. It also gives them knowledge on individual English players ...
Absolutely... it fact a similar remark was made in commentary of Eng v SA match re. Pollard and Leicester players .. - scrum half & full back! No wonder he came on earlier than usual...
Scotland not doing too badly this autumn, but they lost to South Africa a couple of weeks back, which disappointed them - a bit similar to England. Then they comfortably beat Portugal, which was expected.
At least, when you get back to the UK, you should get more immediate results.
Not when it is behind a pay-wall as these autumn internationals are. I have f2a UK TV online. The Austrian coverage was free-to-air and surprisingly knowledgeable commentators. It's not been on Italian f2a that I have but their commentators are a hoot.
The problem, for me, this year is all the internationals have been on BT or TNT as they now call it, and at £30/month on top of Sky etc I wasn't prepared to pay it.
Very annoying is a mild phrase. Before we moved to this house we had Virgin Media and it was all included, we had every channel going, cheaper, more reliable, highest speeds in the country and a lot more reliable. Trouble was they aren't in this, area, so Sky was the best of poor options.
I share your frustration. My one consolation with TNTSport is that my son can access it too. He is totally mad on MOTOGP, which uses this channel, so it’s a shared cost!
Methinks the providers are always looking for ways to get more money out of us!
Me neither - it is disgusting. I only do Alpine winter sport and rugby and I'm not prespared to pay through the nose to watch it. Eurosport 1 seems to cover the skiing with a delay which is fine. I wouldn;t watch them live here anyway - Austrian coverage is so much superior. But very surprised to find Austrian channels on my satellite feed - I know that the EU was intending stopping the geographical blocking so maybe that is why. The only live TV I watch at present is the local news and sport. Escapism maybe but the rest is too depressing! And a range of mostly medical docusoaps ...
Spec.... said my pressures were up to 23/24 so were obliged to refer me to the hospital eye clinic to see a consultant. Very worrying as my mother had glaucoma. However when I was tested there, the pressures were 16/16 and after all the tests, my eyes were deemed very healthy with only a slight cataract. This also happened in the nineties. The consultant had no explanation. Does anyone else have experience of this?
Bit concerning that since the NHS has handed over a lot of that aspect of eye care to optometrists to reduce the load on eye clinics in hospitals. On the other hand - better that way round as miss it ...
OH and I couldn't decide which one was young home, but the judges seem to have no problem. Thing is, the ones left are all good. 'fraid I need em both. 👀👀. Xx
