My 12-year-old grandson, Mattias, had a bad sore throat, headache and fever last Sunday and Monday. He had a test for Covid which came back negative this morning, thank heaven. Yesterday he called me because "my mom says you are concerned about me and I want you to know I feel much better." So did I and this A.M., felt great.
The good news is after being taken off Actemra because of the staph infection in my leg, I have had no ill effects or symptoms of the GCA. My belly feels better too. I am still taking 12 mg of Prednisolone each morning and things seem to be going well. I see enough for sure. My next appointment with this new rheumatologist is October 28, so we'll see.
My knee is looking normal with just a band-aid and I remain on antibiotics. 🦵🏻
So good to be back with all of you....I owe lots of emails but will get 'er done. xo 💖

This is all lovely news! I got some today - no sign of steroid induced diabetes anymore. I cut out bread, pastry and ( most) sugary things but mainly I have reduced Pred to 10 mgs. Things are looking up for both of us. No replies needed, just good to know you are ok. 💖
Hello Grammy wondered where you'd been. Your grandson sounds a sweetheart letting you know that he felt better. How old is he ? My little fourteen year old ratbag never calls me, he's too busy nattering to his friends on his X-box, bless him. I make him a choccy cake every weekend, but still no 'phone call. Maybe at that age they just don't think as when he does see me he always says 'love you nan' Love both my grandsons to bits. The other is twenty one and calls in a lot and also comments that Rhys is only interested in his X-box at the moment. That will change as he gets older. Wish I had a granddaughter too.
