As skipman says - there is a thread on the lupus forum where several ladies on pred have been able to lose a lot of weight using Slimming World.
I and a lot of others on the forum have either lost weight while on pred or have avoided putting it on in the first place by cutting carbs drastically - which is dead easy I find, even when eating out. I lost 36lbs of pred weight - and the first place it went from was around my midriff. I also lost the buffalo hump and the hamster cheeks!
I saw a new rheumie yesterday and found I have lost 5kg since September and that included Christmas! The new rheumie said you don't look like someone with PMR which seemed a strange thing to say, I assume she was talking about the lack of a moon face. My obsessiveness on no simple carbs and gluten obviously worked or alternately I never had PMR!
I was ravenous all the time and gained 32 pounds after starting prednisone. Honestly, I think I would have hurt anyone standing between me and a vat of ice cream! Once my tapered dose was at about 6mg the intense food cravings disappeared. I sharply reduced my carb intake and track my daily calories on a free app on my phone. That simple act of tracking keeps me honest. I've lost half the weight so far, definitely from the upper body.

It's all about carbs. You need a low carb diet. I put on 50 lbs on pred, but in 9 months have lost 42 and counting while on low carbs. Low carb diet should be printed on the Pred Box!
I wish you well: Richard
