Best time to take preds?

I was at 7.5mg and it all went horrid when I got a chest infection, I had forgotten how painful it was, don’t know weather this was anything to do with the infection or a coincidence! I was taking prefs in the early morning 4am but the pain was becoming horrible at 2am on so I spoke to doctor and went back to 9mg and moved it to 9pm, for the first time in ages I sleep most of the night, happy !! Now need to start the reduction again, found a post here about Morninga tree power I’m trying it will let you know if it helps

Thank you all for you posts it really helps.

Sorry to read your prednisone schedule has been disrupted. If it’s not one thing, then it’s another. 😳

I’ve been thrown into turmoil too, due to sudden hearing loss in my left ear. and have gone back to 10..actually now on 9mg.

As my old Dad use to say...”these things are sent to try us !!!”

Exactly what he meant, I’m still trying to figure out 🤣

No seriously, Multistrada, you and I will get through this little set back.

Just don’t fret, you will get back on track.

Try taking your prednisone at 2am. ( that’s bathroom time for me too) 😱

I’m sure one of our more knowledgeable

Mods will give you advice.

I take my prednisone at 2am. Usually with yogurt. ( or a banana ).

I think we all know what he meant, we just can’t explain it sensibly to others!

It is the concept of being tested (try in that sense) in a pre-rdained way and by being tested and overcoming we are better. Bit like "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"

And then there are the trials of Job - a man who the Devil believed only loved God because everything was going well. Would he still be so inclined after suffering the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" - the things you experience that you cannot prevent.

Hi, are you still working when the pain starts? I presume your work is very physical. When you flare perhaps you need a day or two off. Or half days just to rest. No tapering whilst you have symptoms. Otc painkillers for daily aches and pains.

Regardi g dose if it working taking itat 9pm then carry on. If evenings painful perhaps split the dose.

The best time to take pred is the time that works best for you. I'm surprised though that if you are woken with pain at 2am when you take it early, you aren't in a lot of pain a couple of hours before the next dose is due?
