Duloxetine for Pudendal Nueralgia?

Has anyone had any long term success with taking Duloxetine for Pudendal Nueralgia? I am currently weaning off Pregabalin as it no longer works and is making breathing very difficult for me. Disappointed as it worked for about 3 months and then I had to keep upping the dose with no improvement for pain relief just terrible side effects. I will try to go drug free when I completely come off aside from diazapam when the nerve gets stuck but if its unbearable I will try Duloxitene. Any feedback would be appreciated x x

I tried this for about 6 months when I was desperate, as pain was insane and I did not have any other tools in my repertoire at the time.

It helped take the edge off but I was never pain free and messed with my mind at the same time, I.e. up with fairies, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, nausea.

Before coming off I started pelvic trigger point therapy which was another tool, belly breathing, certain exercises as given to me by physiotherapist, daily walking (even though it hurt).

I needed to come of the duloxetine as wanted my mind clear do that I could try and get back to work at the time.

I did find it very difficult to come off and had to do it slowly (over 6-8 weeks) and withdrawal was horrendous (emotional lability, lightheadedness, fainting, palpitations) and pain increased during withdrawing the drug. But after few weeks of being duloxetine free pain levels were back down to what they were whilst I was on it.

Just my own personal experience.

Ok thankyou. I thought that may be the case, sounds like my experience with pregabalin. I'm not convinced any of these pharmaceuticals help with nerve pain. Thanks for the reply. X X

From what I have read they are a good short term solution but most practitioners do not seem to recommend being on them long term.

becausebof my bad reaction to pregabalin, my doctor decided against it.
