Pudendal Nueralgia tremor/vibration sensation?

I have had Pudendal Nueralgia for 3 years now and have started to take Pregabalin for which so far has really helped to take the nerve pain down and I'm only on a low dose at the moment which I'm suppose to increase every 2 weeks.I just wondered if anyone who suffers from this has trouble walking in that after a while their legs start to feel really really heavy and I've also got a tremor/vibration happening around my vagina. I'm not sure if this is due to the medication or just a new development? Has anyone else experienced this sensation?

Thanks in advance x x

Jodie

I have also just started taking pregabalin. I've been taking 25mg twice a day for just over week now, and it seems to be helping a bit with the nerve pain. I'm not experiencing anything like what you are describing though. The thing that I've noticed most is it seems to make my mouth quite dry.

I'm pleased its helping you somewhat with the pain. Yeah I had the dry mouth but it only lasted a couple of days, mainly I'm dizzy but I'd rather the dizziness than the stabbing pains anyway x

Hi,I am taking Pregabalin 75mg twice a day. I have not noticed any of those symptoms you describe except a dry mouth and I think it helps me sleep at night. I have been taking it for 11 months now and I think it does help with the pain although I would probably prefer not to take it but sometimes you have to try these things to see if they work for you.

Pudendal neuralgia is a terrible condition and a lot of people/medical professionals just don't understand it or even acknowledge it.

You have to try all different types of treatments to see which works best for you. I have had 3 nerve blocks, botox into 2 pelvic floor muscles and a ganglion impar block. I have found each of them have helped a little in their own way. It is learning how to best manage the condition and everyone's situation is different.

Good luck with it all.

I'm not on pregabalin but have experienced the tremor/vibration sensations with other medications aimed at tackling nerve pain.

Hi Jobie yes I get the vibrating feeling up inside, it drives me mad. I have had it off and on for about 6 years. It is so bad sometimes I feel as if something is pressing down but all examinations confirm that this is not the case. I am on Garbapentin but had this prior to taking it. Sorry I have absolutely no idea why it happens or what to do about it

Ok thanks for getting back to me, and sorry you've got this all too! Its something I never heard of on the Pudendal Nueralgia forums and literature before x

Yes, I get the vibrating feeling somewhere inside. I am not taking Pregabalin. I assume it is the pudendal nerve twitching or causing something else to twitch. Perhaps it is the pelvic floor. Sometimes it starts just after waking up in the mornings. Perhaps it is the bladder because it is full, as it settles down after I have been to the toilet. If I am having a bad flare up it can twitch all day. The clitoris can start twitching as well, which is really unpleasant.

Oh god that sound horrible, so far its not been painful but pretty constant all day and its not gone into my clitoris yet, hopefully it won't. Wishing you all the best x x

I looked up side effects of pregabalin and it can cause muscle twitching which might explain the tremor you are experiencing. I would talk to your doctor about it if you can.

I have taken Pregabalin 150mg 3 x’s daily for many years and have not had that problem however my Mom had to stop taking it because you could see her leg muscles tremble and move Also the odd vaginal sensations can be caused by pudendal neuralgia itself sometimes causing a condition called PGAD for persistent genital arousal disorder when it affects the clitoris. I found that the anti depressant Celexa ( citalopram) USA stopped the PGAD symptoms which can become very uncomfortable Something my Drs had never heard of ( not unusual) I have Interstitial cystitis with Hunners ulcers and pudendal neuralgia I’d like to add that I was doing pretty well until the govt went overboard on stopping opioids ( which is truly to save money , not concern for you) as all here know that pain patients are not diverting their life giving meds to the street corner . But I digress. Hope, love and prayers to you all for healing
