pudenal nerve decompression
hi
I had surgery around 10 months ago. For me it has been a success, not completely cured but made my life manageable. Compared to 4 years ago my pain and problems are so much better.
I still have problems sitting down, I use a cushion for driving and flying and it’s fine for short trips, or I take a break on longer ones.
I regularly now have no pain from other activities, I work, standing mostly at a stand up desk, I train BJJ 2 or 3 times a week and swim regularly too. I used to get pain in my legs and feet and also top of pelvis, but very rarely now, the scars occasionally hurt and warm weather is much better than hot.
I think the surgery was successful in that it’s given me a manageable solution and mostly pain free life. I still suffer from occasional urine infections when I go from hot to cold climates, or sudden weather changes, but apart from that I have no real issues other than sitting. I am still on Nortryptaline 50mg but this will be reviewed after 1 year, I have no side effects from it. I have had several holidays without issues.
Overall I have no regrets with the surgery. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Thank you for the reply and I’m very happy you have your life back!!! I am on the last option of my medication plan which is Nortriptyline and Duluxetine, and I’m waiting to see if the Nortriptyline takes the pain away. It’s such a horrible complaint to go through. And I can’t see my future at the moment. My daughter sent me the info about the compression surgery. Take care xx
Who did your surgery? Where? Thanks
I had my surgery in Nantes under Professor Stephane Ploteau. My surgery was arranged through Dr Gareth Greenslade at the Bristol Pain Clinic.
I live in Canada and there only appears to be 1 Uro-Gynecological surgeon doing these procedures, and he has terrible reviews!?! But thanks for your reply 😊
