I am scheduled to soon have bilateral pudendal nerve decompression in Nantes. I will need to fly back to London after the procedure and wondered how soon afterwards would it be ok to do so. Has anyone travelled by plane 3 days post operatively?
Anyone out there who has taken a flight soon after surgery?
Thanks

I would have thought that was a bit soon. It's usual to have a post op check a few days or the week after surgery but it's really up to you when you return.
I stayed for four days after the last surgery. The first surgery I flew back after a week. They may keep you in hospital up to three days though, so may be a bit soon. Good luck!
Hi hope it was a success? I hope to follow a similar route if I secure a successful diagnosis. How much did it cost and do you know if private medical insurance in the uk covers it? How long did you need to stay after surgery?
How are you feeling after surgery are you pain free? Would you recommend it to help PNE and chronic pain. Did you find it agony to sit upright prior to surgery ?
I had left pudendal decompression surgery in NH and I live in Florida. I stayed in NH for 10 days post-op at the request of my surgeon then my husband and I flew home. I made it a point to sit very little; the flight attendants were very understanding of my condition and let me stand at the back of the plane for most of the flight home.
Wow things really do vary from surgeon to surgeon. I had bilateral TG NERVE decompression surgery 9am on the Thursday and was discharged 11am the next day immediately after I came off a 23hr ketamine drip. I only had to travel approx 45 miles but recall being in a mess and huge pain.
How are you finding the recovery from surgery has it helped and are you able to do much? Take care
