Consultants will always tell you there's no pain with prolapses..Honestly how would they know they don't suffer with them 🤔 Avoid surgery if you can only last resort as its no walk in park recovering especially bladder...Have you tried working with physiotherapy they have so much knowledge on pelvic floor muscles consultants have zero knowledge..
I really don't blame you I've lost complete trust in medical field of drs.I had hysterectomy fallopian tubes and cervix removed vaginally also sacrospinous ligament fixation done and posterior repair in September I was supposed to have Anterior repair done but Dr felt it was mild I then had Anterior colporrhaphy repair done for bladder prolapse 8th December 22 which cost me 7k I've been complaining with vaginal pain lower back pain so my gynecologist started to investigate 12 weeks post surgery of my 2nd surgery after mris on pelvis limber spine 2 urogynecologist visits also pain specialist all paid for by myself he said my pain has been coming from sacrospinous ligament fixation done in September He removed the 2 permanent stitches and alot of scar tissue he said they done it vaginally and through rectum along side a urogynecologist 2nd August I' developed a 10x8x4cm hematoma from surgery my bladder stopped functioning properly for 6 weeks my bowels since this surgery or taking hematoma is a disaster ..my surgeon went on holidays after my surgery there treated me with 2 antibiotics and morphine Diclofenac for pain...They' had to give me a blood transfusion as my hemoglobin dropped from 129 to 71 . They want haematoma to absorb its self as its to risky having more surgery the pain is ten times worse since having this surgery I don't know whether its hematoma or damage surgeon done ..I emailed him 2 days ago to explain my pain was unbearable his reply was there's no effective treatments that I can recommend at present.
Ultimately, if your pain continues despite complete removal of the sutures, I shall refer you to a leading specialist in pain control.
This is at my expense!!
I can't bear to look at him when I have any appointments 😕 Sorriest decision I ever made getting surgery I suffered with womb and bladder prolapse for 5 yrs I constantly got uti infections I believed my surgeon when he told me I'd have new life I'm only 48 .I'd take my prolapse womb bladder back tomorrow New life of pain is what I got .
Hope physiotherapy helps my physio has been my rock .
Hi Susanne999.Yes I get constant pain despite being told this prolapse nightmare is apparently painless!!?
I can't work out why these Dr's and consultants say this. Anything out of place must cause pain!!
I have stage 2 bowel prolapse and my uterus is stage 1 or 2.
I've had chronic pain for the last 15 months. The only thing that helps is to stay in bed and lie flat. Not something I want to do often. I'm 62 and very active.
I don't think I'd get an op on the NHS as apparently my prolapses aren't too serious. Being in constant pain obviously doesn't count!
I too feel supported by a pessary but it does nothing for the pain like yourself.
I just hope and it might be naive that the body eventually lessens the pain signals or the body gets used to it. Got to hang on to something.
I feel for you, I understand your pain......
Its very real.
Hang on in there. Don't rush to surgery, its no walk in the park.
You might be interested in wholewoman.com a non surgical approach - changing breathing and posture has helped thousands of women with prolapse. I have had constant pelvic pain with mild prolapse, again consultant said prolapse not painful. The pain has finally started to lighten after almost 3 years - I have seen a herbalist - I do not know if its been posture change, or the herbs, but thankfully I am much better. Wishing you wellness and healing
