not even sure where to start any more, feels like this has been an eternal struggle (it hasnt just many years lol) chronic pelvic and back pain for around 4 years pelvic pain began first, back pain newer around 1 year or so. Mri on back showed normal wear and tear (so im told) pelvic ultra sounds range from normal to large uterus to polyps to cysts on ovaries.

For the last 4 months im having periods every 12 to 17 days, had perimenopause blood work all normal, fobbed off to the pain clinic, meds and some education session on pain? (telling me its not real?)

I have gastro symptoms and bowel issues as well as problems with balance and feeling on my left side. This is hard as been investigated and nothing found to be abnormal.

At this point im starting to believe them when they its in my head, this is made even harder as i work at the hospital I am being seen at..they see me working pushing through the pain on many painkillers and say yeh she looks fine... my pain is not visible!!!

Yet the dont see me when i cant stand up from the pain, or when im crying when i go home cos i have pushed to hard to be "normal" and the pain flares. I have another post if u would like to know more details. Not really any question just a bit of a share to get it out my head lol

Thank you if u have any advice and keep smiling =)

Sending empathy. Sounds like a complex condition that is almost impossible to live with, and no doubt the analgesics you're taking also affect digestion and bowels.

And the pain will affect the way you move, and the way you move will affect your posture and your back.

Perhaps you've fallen between specialists, instead of seeing someone who can see the big picture?

Someone must have suggested you go on a mini-pill of some kind to pause the menstruation?

If at least one ultra sound scan suggested polyps or cysts on ovaries, why haven't you been offered treatment for that? If all this started four years ago, then something changed four years ago.

It sounds like your income may not be high enough to go private, but otherwise I would suggest going to see a uro-gynaecologist that way, where there's no rush and they have time to talk to you properly. And not one of the ones you've already seen! This is AWFUL. Hang in there until you get someone who can help you make sense of it.

Can you get a second opinion on endo? I saw your other post and I've also read that endo gets missed because many doctors don't know how to look for it.

My advice would be to find an endometriosis specialist gynaecologist I think you can Google this and then find the nearest in your area and pay to see this person privately. Explain your story and hopefully they will put you on prostap to induce the menopause. If after a few months this helps then they know it’s period related. If you need an op they will put you back into NHS. It’s disgusting how us ladies are brushed off when dealing with debilitating pain 💪 keep fighting, you deserve to live pain free x
