I have had this condition for about four years. It was not causing much trouble but is now making it difficult for me to pass urine or feces. What would anyone advise me to start trying to remedy this. Any tips welcome.

Hello Reinaway.I'm sorry your having to deal with this. It's really uncomfortable isn't it.

I finally went to see my gp a couple of weeks ago. I explained my situation and she said maybe a pessary would help then asked if she could do an examination. After it she said it's a bit more involved as I had bladder, bowel and uterus prolapse and wasn't sure if a pessary would help. She's booked me in for 30th with someone to check if I would benefit. Fingers crossed as I really don't want an operation.

I think you should see your gp for an assessment. I did read about sponges the other day but I think mines too far gone.

I hope you get sorted soon. X

Hello Reinaway, sorry you are suffering. I have had this for about 8 years I think but only chronic past four and a half. I had a pessary fitted because the prolapses I have prevent my bowel from emptying. I have been using peristeen bowel irrigation to deal with backed up waste for 12 months and been taught some pelvic floor exercises by a physiotherapist. But I was still having very long periods of bowel not working properly, lack of sleep and mood affected by this and not able to sit or walk far and in agony every day and feeling like I wasn't getting anywhere. The nurse at the colorectal department phoned me to tell me I wouldn't get any better, they don't want to operate on me and I needed to learn to live with it. On the advice of a friend I went to see an Osteopath 3 weeks ago and she referred me to a holistic therapist who massaged my pelvis and taught me more exercises. I have been doing these every day and have started to feel some relief for the first time in years. I have given up my morning coffee for cumin seed, fennel seed and dried mint tea which I drink sitting on a swing couch in my garden doing my exercises. I finish with a reiki or a deep breathing meditation. I hardly eat any carbs, prunes, kefir, walnuts and raspberries for breakfast every day and eat 30 g fibre. Psyllium Husk powder is a good source of fibre, going regularly has helped me a lot. Avoiding stressful situations also helps as stress exacerbates all the symptoms, even if this means avoiding people who are close, has also been a major factor in my very long road to better health, and this is the most difficult as feeling this unwell all the time makes me feel desperate sometimes. I also got a pair of headphones and listen to solfeggio and 112 hertz healing frequencies. Hope some of this helps. This has been the only time I have ever had a health problem and it's a long and arduous path, but stick with it coz I was told by professionals that it was all over for me and have recently discovered it most certainly is not. Good luck to you and everyone who is on this journey
