I think I have a vaginal prolapse. I have suffered with constipation for a long time and often don't 'go' for a few days. The gp prescribed laxatives but they are horrible, when I take them I never feel like I have finished if that makes sense. And I get sore too, so I don't take them often. Yesterday I had an abdominal massage, which always helps my bowels. However after I had been to the loo there was something, like a pink ping pong ball, hanging out of my vagina. It was soft and obviously part of me. The same thing has happened today. I have a dragging, sort of crampy pain low in my belly and feel tender, like I have been riding a bike for a long time. I had my smear test three weeks ago and all was fine, but this has only happened yesterday. Can anyone advise?

Sorry you have great discomfort. First you need to be seen and examined by a doctor.Dont get fobbed off by its lockdown. Once you know it less scary. If it is prolapse u will be referred to a gynaecology specialist. I was offered pessary and 2 have not worked properly. Mine prolapse is front and rear also caused by constant pushing of bowels.I do take fibrogel and lactose but bowels are intermittent and bleed due to haemoroids. You can ask for creams to help too.good luck
Hi Dee, sounds like a prolapse. You need to get it properly diagnosed so go to see your doctor. You may need to persevere - it took me six months to get be referred to a consultant and then five months to see him. My GP kept telling me she couldn't see anything wrong and told me to do pelvic floor exercises which were a fat lot of good!
The consultant said 'Yes, it's a prolapse, you need a hysterectomy'. That's not necessarily the case! I was sent away and told I'd get a date for an operation but given no advice on how to live with the condition - I researched it on the internet, found a lot of helpful advice from other health authorities, and went back and asked for a pessary - that's made my life so much easier.
I finally got an op date over a year after seeing the consultant, and after I'd moved to a new area 200 miles away. So basically I said forget it, I'll manage with the pessary as long as I can - three years on it's still working well and I can just about forget about the prolapse.
Don't let them put you off! If I hadn't found out about pessaries I don't know what I'd have done - it's not fair to abandon women with prolapses but it seems they'll try so make sure you keep fighting!
I have that too i pusch it back with a toiletpaper and two fingers the gyneacoloog also advised me that. Its a prolaps between my vagina and bowel tissue after giving birth to my eldest.
I saw an expert on living with a prolapse. She told me that the last thing you should do with a prolapse is push. I now eat two conference pears with peel on every day. Make sure you are in a good squatting position - i.e your knees are higher than you tummy.
It honestly works but you do need a proper diagnosis.
Yes it does sound like a prolapse . I’ve had the same experience in the past . After a lot of trying to get by with all sorts of methods I had surgery to lift my bladder . It was through the vaginal wall and all went well then about 6 years later my Bowel started to prolapse and I had a similar op for that .. the result was great .
However I still get constipated and have found Movicol to be the best laxative, ask at chemist , mixing one powder a day with water and orange juice . It works brilliantly with no gripping pains. If I get sore I use a blob of Johnson’s baby lotion (pink bottle) on toilet paper to wipe. It never stings and does the trick .
