Hey everyone. 32 year old mummy to 2, currently laying awake at 4am.

I had covid in December and this messed my period up big time, I bled for about 7 weeks heavy with clots. My periods then settled down, just last month I noticed some slight spotting a week after my period. This month I started spotting again a week after my period. I am on the nexplannon so thought maybe it’s this. Only this month I have a weird dull feeling in my left hand side of pelvis and my vagina wall feels tender. It’s more like a heaviness pulling feeling. I notice it more when I’m moving around. My partner had a feel down there and he said it feels normal. I’ve been googling and I’ve come across fibroids. Did anyone else have these symptoms?

I am waiting for a call back from my doctor to hopefully get an appointment in a few days. I just can’t help but worry.

Thank you and hope you’re all well x

Hi Yes I have the same symptoms

So I have had heavy periods for around 2 years in May last year I had the coil fitted and after 3 months it came out then my periods became heavy again and I started with this strange feeling like you said left side of my vagina like a pulling dragging feeling worst when walking or standing for long periods. The doctors checked internal 3 times and said everything looked normal, after a few months it’s eased slightly. I was referred to Gynae due to my heavy periods where again he examined internally and said everything was normal had a pelvic scan where large Fibroids where identified am now waiting a hysterectomy.

However the discomfort and dragging feeling is back and has been for about a month it’s to the left side too like yours.

I have been thinking about ringing doctor again to check cause it worries me too but now not sure if it’s related to fibroids.

Nice to hear am not the only one going through this.

Thanks for your reply. Definitely nice to know I’m not alone also. I finally got to speak with my doctor and he said fibroids he told me take ibuprofen for a few weeks see if that helps. Some days I barely notice it and others I do. Like you say it’s worse with exercise walking,

Did you choose for hysterectomy or did they recommend it?

Hi Am like you some days don’t even notice it then other days it makes me go crazy it’s so uncomfortable like something stuck up there.

So I got referred to Gynae to to heavy periods thinking I was going to have an ablation on my womb but consultant said I had a very large womb so sent me for a scan resulted multiple large fibroids so I said take it all away for me which he replied it looks like we will have to go down that route. Am not bothered I ve had my children and if it stops the pain, discomfort and my periods then am happy.

Fair enough. I would be the same if it comes to it. Bit rude but even my vagina lips on the left side feels weird sometimes 🙈🤣 so annoying!! More discomfort then anything isn’t it

It’s made me so happy that I ve come across you as I have the same feelings. Seriously thought I was going mad, was I imagining it, was it something serious.

Thank you for writing a post on here, I have another gynae appointment next week I will let you know how it goes.
