Fibroids and constipation

I’m waiting on a fibroids diagnosis. They run in the family

I’ve always had heavy periods but ive had clots for about a year (getting bigger and bigger) and bad pain

recently (past 3 months) I’m constipated/pressure in bottom/feels like I need to go most of the time. And I have this mostly all through the month. It varies depending on the stage of my cycle though.

I never thought to put the constipation together with fibroids so was initially worried something sinister going on in bowels. I’ve had screening for blood in stool and that was all clear and I’m 30 so risks of something sinister are extremely extremely low

I also have right groin pain with some back pain.

Looking for people with similar symptoms to put my mind at ease until my referral appointment comes through.

I know fibroids symptoms are so different from person to person but just hearing some similar experiences will help me stop worrying.

Yes I recognize everything. I have multiple fibroids and my uterus is enlarged. I recommend you the "fibroids removal support group" on Facebook it's really full of info and supportive. Otherwise just ask me what you want.

I changed my diet to plant based (whole vegan low sugar, low fat, low processed) which is helping with intestines. I'm on high dose progesterone to control the bleeding. I was severe anemic (didn't notice so have it checked).

I’m vegetarian but I think it’s time to cut out some of the junk food and go plant-based. Fed up of being unhealthy!

I have 3 fibroids at last count but l am 52 and all they keep saying is that l am peri menopausal. I have had all the symptoms you have. I was also diagnosed with acid reflux last year and had a bowel infection at Christmas. I was sent for a colonoscopy they were looking for diverticulitis which l did not have. I tried vegan diet for a few months and it did help but found it too restrictive for me. l was given medication for my acid reflux and l was also taking amitriptyline to help me sleep when l had the bowel infection because of stomach pain. These did help but caused constipation so l stopped the amitriptyline and it has improved. Are you on medication that could cause constipation? I was recommended Fybogel which helps.

I’ve just been put on Fybogel and also Dioctyl at night which seem to making a difference, or at least more regular and the pressure isn’t as bad.

I have been getting some pain under ribs lately and not sure if because bloating is causing it.

Still waiting on colonoscopy but doctor says could take months with how backed up NHS. Luckily the ultrasound is supposed to be a much quicker waiting list

They told me the same but sent me to a private clinic whatever you do have sedation it’s an awful procedure l had gas and air but did not help much.

Nope nothing sinister had fibroids according to Gynae for 5 plus years , had laparoscopy & scans been told the womb looks beautiful😃🤣 .I think there's this assumption of fibroids can turn to cancer, have had my aunt mention that but I don't take on others fears.Also there's so much assumptions on what causes, fibroids from hormone pills, to eating too much meat to stress .I have experienced much of the symptoms you mentioned.
