Please can someone tell me if it is possible to have intercourse with a size 3 ring pessary with a diaphragm support in the centre of the ring? Or do you have to remove it? Which pessaries are you able to keep in and have intercourse? I am having a doctor fit a pessary next week and just got the prescription from the chemist. Really worried as l dont think l could put it in and out. Plus l might want to have intercourse with my husband as l was hoping l would feel better with one.
I have a prolaspe something definitely a rectocele and a degree of uterus decent fortunately bladder working ok. Difficulties having a bowel movement.
Please can anyone tell me about the ring pessary with the diaphragm support
Thanks

Yes, some women have sex with this pessary in. I did it accidentally...lol. I usually take mine out, but forgot I had it in. My husband found it uncomfortable but not all men do. I find it pretty easy to take out, so don't totally discount that.
Thankyou very much for your reply. Do you put it back in ok? How high does it go up? What angle does it sit? I'm pretty scared? Doctor fitting it on Thursday. Will l be able to feel it? Do you fold it to put it back in? Do l need to buy a lubricant? Please reply You gave made me feel better already do thankyou
My GP said once she had fitted it I wouldn’t know it was there and she would change it for me every 6 months. No need for me to do anything. Intercourse should be fine.
My pessary came with lubricant. The gynecologist showed me how to take it out and put it back in. There are YouTube videos as well. It sits more vertical than I expected. It goes in and sort of tuck up over the pubic bone. I sometimes forget I have it in. If it fits well, you will not feel it. If you don't feel comfortable removing it yourself, there are some that stay in for months. Good luck on Thursday!
