Was wondering if anyone had any experience with anal dilation with a hypertonic pelvic floor? My pelvic floor has not only seized up my vaginal muscle, but my bowels too. I'm not constipated - but it feels like I literally can't open my bowels sometimes.
As vaginal dilators work, surely it should be the same for anal dilators?

I sometimes have a similar problem due to the anal sphinctor muscles being tight. I use a " squatty potty" which makes it easier to open bowels. You will find a variety of these if you google it. Can't comment on anal dilators - not sure if they exist, or if bowel could be damaged by use of them
I have levator-ani syndrome which affects my pubirectalis muscles resulting in Dysfunctional bowel, bladder and very tight painful pelvic floor.I cannot have a normal Bowel motion as my "push" function isn't there. I use daily trans-anal irrigation bit awkward when first tried but now part of my daily routine. I also see my specialist physio for vaginal internal /external pelvic floor trigger point therapy which helps with the tightness and pain in muscles.
Hope you find something that will help with your symptoms.
