Lower buttock pain - nerve specialist recommendation?
I have. My pudendal nerve on my right side was left pinched for 3.5 years. I couldn’t sit ( I still can’t ) and after PT I couldn’t lie down pain free anymore.
Before I had the nerve released from the two ligaments it was stuck onto and being gripped by, I was in agony. It burned and I started losing whole bowel movements in my underwear, pyjamas and bath. I didn’t sleep properly for 3.5 years! I almost died. I was abused and neglected by doctors,
You’ll need to be seen by both a neurologist or neurosurgeon. Unfortunately, most of them dismiss pudendal neuralgia. All they offer is medication management which doesn’t help much but destroys your liver, kidneys, lymphatic system.
You need a properly done nerve block into the pudendal nerve roots via your buttock on the affected side. The nerve block should be done by a pelvic radiologist or PNE expert. It should be done with fluoroscopy or CT guidance. The injection must contain anesthetic AND 30-40 mg steroid. The block will work if you can sit short term. It’s a diagnostic tool only.
If three successive blocks done this way, and done a month apart bring no relief, decompression surgery is suggested.
I have no names of experts in your part of the world but I have one in Belgium and one in Geneva, Switzerland.
