Suffering with fibroids and excruciating pain in lower abdomen when menstruating. Pain feels like building pressure between back and abdomen and lower abdomen tender to touch. This only happens when I’m on my period. Diagnosed with fibroids and cyst 2 years ago but cyst disappeared 3 months later. Periods not particularly heavy and every month pressure building pain when emptying bladder or bowels but no pain other than that until this month it’s just pain 24/7 and really making me ill and getting me down. Any advice to relieve pain welcome 🙏🏽

Excruciating pain in lower abdomen
I have the same problem, doctor prescribed opioid painkillers prolonged-release which helps me now which I take all month long, just been for MRI today to see the possibility of having fibroid removed and looking into the fact I might have endometriosis as well. Try asking doctor for something stronger, for me ibuprofen, naproxen and mefenamic acid doesn’t help.
I also use a herbal tincture which really helps relieve symptoms, I thought it wasn’t working so I used it very little for a while and my symptoms were much worse so I am taking it again now.
Thanks. What herbal tincture do you use?
There is a person on eBay that makes it for me, goes by the name arcana.holistic.herbal, when you select a product called herbal tincture personalised 420ml for £35, he also does it in 100ml for about £11 if you want to try it out first. Once you place your order you can send him a message telling him what you want in the tincture. The one I get him to make has this in: Achillea millefolium, Ocimum sanctum, Vitex Angus castus FE, Trifolium pratense FE, Cimicifuga racemose, Urtica dioica rad, Paeonia lacteriflora, Zingiber officinalis. You can go onto the internet and Google it to look up all these names to see what they do. You could also just ask him to make the same one for you that he makes for Shannon Collins, he knows me.
It takes a while to work for the stuff to get into your system and it doesn’t take the problem away but it does help relieve the symptoms.
Regards
Hi, from experience I would start with paracetamol and a NSAID such as ibuprofen or mefenamic acid just before and throughout your period. Keep on top of doses and a diary to show your GP. You could then add co-codamol instead of paracetamol if this doesn’t work. Up water intake and fibrous foods if you do. Hot waters bottles can help.
If this still doesn’t work, I’d see you GP. There are stronger pain meds that they can prescribe. Stronger NSAIDS such as naproxen and higher dose codeine.
Hot baths, relaxing oils etc can help too. Good luck x
