Waiting on test results

Hi there, new to this site. So I am having blood tests for thyroid, goiter, anaemia due to 3 periods month, 9 years of severe bowel issues and ended up having my implant removed as it seemed to trigger massive blockages and taking pikalax (does what it says and it is what you take in readiness for a colonoscopy) every 2 months, A double tubal ligation last year due to a complete family, and expanding into the next generation. I did ask for them to complete a hysterectomy, but due to no "medical" reasons they wouldn't undertake it. Everything was fine for 8 months and now seem to be back to square 1.

High blood pressure and severe pelvic pain which has been given IBS, IBD and Chronic Pelvic Pain but never a definitive answer just prescribed amiltriptolyne. Awaiting on a ultrasound trans/vaginal appointment, but can definitely tell there is something on the right side which is where I always had my pain and proves to be the issue relating to my bowel becoming painful. Painful sex and tiredness beyond, but as a mum and working "you just get on with it"!!

Doctor has been amazing and put in place all the tests and appointments. As soon as she mentioned this then straight onto the websites and everything has clicked into place!! I feel for everyone going through similar circumstances and have found this website really helpful.

Anyone else been through the nightmare of gastro/gynae for a prolonged number of years? xxxx

Hi Sezzy,

I hope you get better soon. I have had some gynaecologist/endocrinology related issues (waiting for scans as well as nothing else seems to work) and though the GPs are kind and understanding it doesn't help the patients especially in these uncertain times. Do take care and hope someone here offers you some useful advice/tips to cope while you wait. xxx

Thank you so much for your kind words. I now have a query uti/ kidney infection which has also plagued me for a number of years. I'm so priveldged to work in a hospital so ill be asking for a dip test to see if there is an underlying infection. Even had a flexible camera into my bladder and I have a larger than normal bladder which basically collects all the nasties and then when ready gives me a nice uncomfortable uti!!!

Bless my poor husband has lived through this with me since day 1!!! Only time it is relieved is when I am pregnant and this isn't possible now!!!

The unbearable fact is always having to wait for results and appointments but we all know we're not the only ones going through these horrible issues!! Xxx

Hi,

I had 14 yrs of back and forth from gastro to gynae, with some urology thrown in for good measure. Finally after being offered a lapsroscopy, found all my bowel, bladder, pelvic right sided pain came from endometriosis! I'd been asking for years if that was the issue, but as I didn't have overly heavy periods, or period pain and 2 children, they kept dismissing it. Many physicians seemed to gloss over the fact that I was in excruciating right sided pain on week 2,(ovulation) and sometimes a few days before and after period. I was diagnosed with ibs, over active bladder, tested for pid etc. If you read up on endo, as I ultimately did, you'll find all this conditions can come alongside endo or be caused by it, as the rogue cells attach themselves all over the pelvis (and beyond!) and irritate.

Since having it removed, I can't say everything is perfect, but certain aspects are better. At least I have an answer.

Bless you - hopefully I get the results from the bloods today via the Doctor. It could always be down the cysts as I suffer with daughter cysts as well (cysts that grow inside of cysts) having had my ovaries left in to stop early menopause. Why don't they listen to the patient when you say to them "while ur in there take the whole lot out!!" 9 weeks off after the previous op I could have been sorted by now!!

I'll let you know what occurs today with regards to any updates. I have a feeling I'm going to be on my period again which is just under 1 week since last day of my last one!!!

Hey ho another day of waiting!!! Xxx

Good luck! Waiting is the worst part. A friend of mine from work, bled for 18 months solid. They messed her around, trying things, saying come back in 3 months if it doesn't work, trying something else etc. Finally they offered to seal her womb...but they wouldn't give her a hysterectomy, even though she has 3 grown up children and a grandchild. Since the procedure, she's back to herself, but why make her suffer for so long? She was in so much pain, and the blood loss made her so weak.
