Fibroid in uterus pressing on my bladder discovered during laposcopy.

They didn’t remove it and now I have to wait for an mri to see what is attached to and what are the next steps. So fed up not being able to go out and constantly going the toilet.

arrrr who can we believe..7.5 years left front pelvic pain..

tests with gynno.fibroids calcified not a problem.

tests with digestivo ibs diagnosed.

tests with urology.1st diagnosis chronic pelvic pain ??? yeh i already knew that.

2nd diagnosis over active bladder.taking tablets for months, still got pain.

so last oct started with herniated lumber disc and the pain comes right through to the front.

go to physio.

diagnosed with tight psoas muscle.

exercises and massage recommended.

no change.

i've wanted a diagnostic laprascopomy for years but i'll have to pay, so what if they dont find anything.

i also have sterilization clips.

i see on x ray one is rather out of place but medics say oh no not a problem.

my latest malady which causes sciatica due to a nerve being pinched,who'to say that we suffer with nerves being pinched elsewhere.

your problem is a classic example.

what doc would ever have thought of what you've got..

i guess its gonna be a long proccess but you will get there.

your mri interventional radiologist will have read your notes and he will be looking at your curcumstances.

be patient. you'll get it fixed. good luck.

Omg I relate! I'm 24 and feel like all my dreams are in the bin.. I came out of university stomped by what doctors call 'complex' and they are so close to saying: we don't know and heres some pain killers.......and if it doesn't show on the MRI then it's not there my love, so they say - patronisingly.

I don't think throbbing is ever normal or something to live with. Your body speaks volumes, it doesn't make stuff up.

They are such assholes for not removing it. Anything not apart of your body should be removed unless it poses a greater harm. I hope that you find out what it is and get some answers. Wishing you get well asap

They were expecting everything to be normal I just feel like giving up it’s been going on since January and everyone has been saying it’s anxiety, mum keeps saying I’m not helping myself and should just wear incontience pads and get on with it, I may kill myself it seems like the best option and mum can get on with her life then.

It’s not anxiety my love. It is a source and cause of anxiety. I completely understand how you feel. Wear whatever is convenient for the time being until they see to it on the MRI. I have been suffering for three years and now my issue is causing me serious nerve damage. When I stand up and try and walk I can’t breathe. I am waiting for results too and have felt like seriously giving up. But don’t. Endurance is so painful but there’s light I promise.

Hi,

Unfortunately it is standard procedure to have a mri scan for fibroids as the aim especially your age they need to make sure it can be removed easily. It maybe you need medication to gradually shrink it before having further surgery or you maybe able to have the surgery without needing medication beforehand. Careful planning like this reduces the risks of serious and preventable complications that could result in a hysterectomy if things were to go seriously wrong. I’m sure you can understand this makes a lot more sense rather than simply rushing in to remove the fibroid

I wouldn't have minded don't want children and doesn't look like I can have them anyway. I understand I have no more fight left and don't want to go on like this for another six months while they see whether the medication shrinks it.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. I can’t have children either but a hysterectomy has massive effects on the body and can shorten a women’s life if ovaries are removed. Having a fibroid doesn’t necessarily result in infertility . Hysterectomy used to be almost standard for fibroids but they can cut them out by a procedure called a myomectomy

Ok try going the toilet 30 times a day and throughout the night I haven’t slept in months or been out I’m exhausted and it’s just going to get worse and worse as it grows. This is having a massive impact on my life and my body.

Do you know the size of your fibroid ? I have one of nearly 7cm which is pressing on other bits but gynae don't want to do anything about it. I also have an ovarian cyst which adds to the fun, not !

I had a fibroid while I was pregnant so they don't stop you having children.

Hi Cloverwolf,

I do go to the toilet more than 30 times a day as I have severe interstitial cystitis which I’ve had consultations to have my bladder removed and reconstructed using my bowel. I’ve reached the end of the line with treatments. On top of that I have endometriosis and severe adenomyosis so I’m fully aware of the impact on life including sleep and being in pain constantly and the debilitating fatigue amongst other awful side effects. I also battle another 5 chronic illnesses on top of these. For me there is no cure but you are likely to have the option of a myomectomy which I’ve previously mentioned which will completely remove the fibroid. That way you will be cured and no longer suffering. Not all fibroids continue to grow you might be lucky but the fact they’ve given you a scan shows they are trying to come up with treatment options for you which you need to remember. I myself am currently waiting the results of my own mri scan to see if I need more surgery.

Please try to remember that this charity is run entirely by volunteers who each suffer from some form of pelvic pain. Some of us one condition others more than one. We each devote an awful lot of our free time to help others not only on here but by attending professional meetings and research projects both here in the U.K. and mainland Europe in the hope of finding cures, treatment methods as many of us are on aggressive treatments and ways to help others manage pain better. Many of us have lost careers, the hope of having a family besides other hopes and ambitions. But what we do have is a passion for helping others, a shared understanding of others in a similar situation , hope for the future even when the future looks bleak and pointless. I myself have lost not only a very highly regarded MSc in pharmacology which I couldn’t finish and along with it went my career in research, a chance of a family of my own etc. My life isn’t what I had planned but I’m grateful to those doing everything they can to help me and am currently in the process of changing career completely which is both exciting and scary. What I’m trying to say in a nutshell is please don’t shoot down those trying to help you on here or in life and don’t give up and lose hope. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend 🌟

I’m a bit confused and concerned by your response. You made a claim that I had no experience of going to the toilet a lot to which I responded I have plenty and more. Your reply to me was somewhat rude and defensive, both weren’t necessary. On this site we aim to provide a supportive environment where we can help and advise people based on current research and/or our experience of being in pain and not create a competitive environment as to who is worse off than who. I’ve found this on groups on Facebook and others and it’s not a welcoming or helpful environment for anyone m. I advised you of a possible treatment option and to treat everyone including us at the charity kindly. I’m not sure what you mean about joining your dad but you have and always will be welcome here.

Hi, I had a fibroid removed on my bladder line in October. It has left me with chronic debilitating life altering pain. MRIs (in US) are easy to get a copy of on a disc. Anyway, be sure you work with a surgeon if you get surgery who understands complexity of bladder/fibroids. It's been a nightmare. DM me if you want.
