Hi, I have had this pain. Mine was caused by bursitis. An inflammation of the sac around the hip joint. In the end I needed a guided ultrasound cortisone shot, but before this, the advice was to take an anti inflammatory like ibuprofen and rub ibuprofen gel on the area. Do some gentle leg stretching exercises to keep it from getting tight.

Hope that helps 😊

Could be from low back-referred pain from herniated or bulging disc. Sciatica type nerve pain. Should have a doctor check you. Those type problems often resolve themselves.

Have had that pain plus dealing with PFD. Recently had an MRI which revealed labral tears in my hips, glutes and hamstrings as well as a bit of bursitis. Have greatly reduced the Pelvic Floor issues through a pelvic floor specialist but still had pain like you are describing. That’s when I had the MRI. I’ve reduced my activities, used ice on painful areas, taken Ibuprofen and used topicals like Diclofenic/Voltarin. I’ve also used some CBD tinctures for pain. Try not to sit too much. I’m currently doing gentle exercises to help strengthen all of those areas as well as gentle stretches. I’ll have to be doing these the rest of my life.

What do you think caused your pain? Did you fall?

No falls just being too aggressive at the gym. Too much weight and too high of a step on the step aerobic portion. I knew almost immediately I’d hurt something when I first stepped up. I didn’t rest after that but thought I just needed to push on. I’d also had episodes of stretching beyond pain in my martial arts class. Then I thought I just needed to do more foam rolling. Pushing through pain isn’t always a good idea. It all lead to irritating my old back injuries which are now arthritic. Not to mention I’ve had like seven surgeries over my lifetime from my waist to my groin area. So cause for me was a combination of many things all leading to guarding tension in the pelvis and clenching in the glutes. Learning to let go and relax has been difficult for me. Needing to become aware of how and why I’m tense has been key. I’m now concentrating on stabilizing and strengthening my hip flexors and also letting go of the tension through breathing and releasing. Sounds easy but it’s not. What is easy is to slip back into old holding patterns. Sorry to ramble as I’ve over answered your question.
