Have you considered a yeast infection?
Louise, how long has it been since your injury? Have you seen a dr?
I should think it will heal on its own in time, it is only nerve endings after all. But best to see a doctor and get it checked. K
Could be a small caruncle on it, if it has gone deep pink or red.
