My doctor prescribed me with 5 mg diazopam and empty pill capsules so I can crush it with a pill crusher and use it as a vaginal suppository for high tone pelvic floor dysfunction. I feel like it’s working a little bit but I was wondering if there is anyone with a similar prescription but with a higher dose, like 10 mg and if that would help more than 5 mg or if that would be too much since diazepam is a sedative.

Diazepam suppositories with PFD
I used 5 mg Diazepam suppositories two years ago when my PN pain and pelvic floor tension were severe. They do help to relax the pf muscles and help you sleep. For me, I think 10 mg would too much, as the suppositories do make you very sleepy and made me feel a bit out of it the next morning. I had them made at a compounding pharmacy here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My PCM wrote a prescription, and it would take about a day for the pharmacy to make 30 suppositories. They are waxy and easy to insert with a plastic applicator. I used one at bedtime each night, and I would suggest wearing a pad as they can be messy when they melt. Maybe if there is a compounding pharmacy where you live you could look into it. Maybe the waxy substance the Diazepam is suspended in works better for absorption than a capsule? Not sure, but you could ask them. Good luck!
