Ovarian cyst treatment

I have an ultrasound scan next week to check what’s causing my pain and is most likely a large ovarian cyst. What determines if it is going to be removed and what determines whether the surgery is a larascopy or laparotomy ?

If it's big enough and causing trouble or it looks suspicious you may be lucky and get it removed, if not they will leave it and just monitor.

I've had many cysts, 1 enormous one was removed, 1 ruptured which caused peritonitis, several that have come and gone, currently have one that has been there over 10 years, they won't do anything about it.

Type of op will depend on size, location and surgeons preference, good luck.
