Hi Becky
The best people to contact would be to contact the hospital where it was fitted as this should be in your medical notes there or contact the surgeon or their secretary who are often very helpful. Is it to do with any problems with the TVT sling?
It (the sling) is just not doing like it should....I still have incontinece, pain, spaziums etc....Becky W
You need to get the sling removed, best bet is Dr. Raz in CA. He has done thousands and he gets it all.
Is it pretty major?
Yes, your original problem can come back, there are other options. Go to meshmedicaldevicenewsdesk.com. There is a lot of information there. The pain and spasms you're talking about sound like mesh complication, I would see Dr. Raz at UCLA, CA. He is very experienced with the problems of mesh. He won't tell you to remove it, if he thinks it's not necessary. If you decide to have it removed, it needs to be taken all at once, partial removals lead to many more issues. Hope this helps!
Oh,,,the hospital, Mosaic, will not say and I'm still waiting on my Dr to tell me,,,,,he has moved away. Becky Q
You have a right to request your medical records--they can't refuse. It will cost you whatever your state allows
it will be in the operative report. I suggest you contact the crusader of failed surgeries like this--Dr. Michael Hibner in Phoenix. Have your doc refer you....
tvt sling only has a lifespan of up to 10yrs so as it has been 13years since your surgery i dont
think there is much you can do Where do you live?
It is supposed to be on your original surgery paperwork. It's a Barcode they pull off and place on the page on the day of surgery when they use the product. If it isn't there the surgeon is responsible.
